I made a huge batch of chili last night in the croc pot insert and put it in the fridge so that this morning I could just stick it in the croc pot.(we have a bunch of family coming for dinner before trick-or-treating) Well, I bet you can guess what's coming. Yep, I forgot to put it in the croc pot before I left. I'll get home about 2 hours before everyone comes over, so should I put it in the croc pot on high for 2 hours or just cook it on the stove for 30 minutes or cook it on the stove on low for 2 hours? I don't want to burn it. What would be best? I'm such a dope! I love my chili in the croc pot, not on the stove!

Assuming it's fully cooked, just refrigerated, I would think 2 hours on high should be long enough to heat it. I'd just put it on the stovetop, personally, but if you like it in the crockpot, that should be enough time. :)

You need to do the stove. The crock pot probably won't get it hot enough in 2 hours since it is cold. The "high" setting on a crockpot is only 300 degrees.

Ok, ignore me. I can't find my like 30-minute chili recipe, but i will post it here when I do in case anybody wants it.

Why don't you microwave it a little, then put it in the crockpot? That's what I'm making for dinner tonight also, it smells so good!

Put paper towling over it first in the microwave and use a 60% setting to warm it up to boiling. Turn your slow cooker on right away so the exchange is about the same from micro-wave to slow cooker.

I cooked it on the stove for about 45 minutes, then put it on high in the croc pot. It turned out really good. Everyone told me how good it was. It actually tasted like it had been in the croc pot all day. Yay. Stress for nothing. Thanks for all of the tips guys!
