Want to move to a Category 8. Only available on Deck 5 forward under the Buena Vista Theater 5000-5018, 5500-5518. The passporter states only noise if shows going well I have a 2 year old so we may make it back to the cabin before the end of the show some nights?

Should I try it or just go for the move from the Category 9 to the Category 6?

Help need to tell DU soon..................

If you have a 2 yr old and can afford the 6, I say go for it. You never know when you will be in early, the verandah will come in handy then.

B&W mom: The Buena Vista theater is the movie theater, not the big theater where the big shows are. There are movies that run until pretty late (1 or so as I remember). You might check Barb's site for some of the navigator's to see what time the movies run.

Category 8 staterooms 5000-5018 and 5500-5518 are not under the Buena Vista Theatre. They are above the Walt Disney Theatre, where the big shows are presented each evening.

I wouldn't be concerned about noise.

Sorry that is what I meant so the noise is while the shows are going on. The only other thing available is a Category 5 but will cost $1085 more????????????????

We decided to spring for the verandah because our kids will be 4 and 7 and we thought they may end up taking a few naps. I wanted to feel "on vacation" all of the time and not resent time spent "cooped" up our room. This way, if the family (DH included) sleep in, I can read a book and eat breakfast out on the verandah. DH takes longer to shower and dress than me, another time I can "chill" out on the verandah. My focus will be on relaxing, I think the verandah will help out in that goal. Your child will only be 2, I think you deserve the cat. 5! If you can swing it, go for it :)

That is a good point, I know my 5 year old will love it and remember it but my 2 year old is He-- on feet :p and I don't think he will remember it but will enjoy it none the less and I know my MIL would be SO happy.

Do the 5's have plexi glass on the balconies?

Don't be so sure your 2 year old won't remember it! Our first cruise our 3rd child was 2 and she remembered where everything was when we went back when she was 4! The (then)15 mo. old didn't remember a lot but boy oh boy did the 2 (then) year old (as well as the then 4 yr and 8 year olds). She talked about it for months afterwards!

The cat 5 verandahs do have coverings on the balconies. He would have to climb on a chair or the little table to get over it.

Which if he's anything like mine was at 2 will absolutely happen!

A buddy of mine just got back from a 4 day cruise and was in a cat 8 on deck 5 over the Walt Disney Theater. He said noise was a MAJOR problem, so much that he called guest services and complained several times. Apparently, they were rehearsing a show up until approximately midnight and then again in the early morning. The noise was bass thumping and kept his kid awake at night.

My buddy said he had a great cruise other than the noise issue.
