So I'm planning on proposing on our upcoming trip this week at DW (have been planning this trip for the past several months). I had originally planned to have early morning ADR at Liberty Tree and proposing in the park when not that many people were there. However, I had thought of what I saw as a better idea to do it on a carriage ride at POR. Now I'm looking at the weather forecast for this day and it shows a 70% chance of thunderstorms and I'm kind of getting freaked out that 1) the weather will be so bad they'll cancel the carriage rides for the night 2) that the weather will just be so bad that I won't want to do it there.

I should mention that she has no idea about the plans for this week, including the carriage ride. She also thinks that we are staying at POR but I've actually booked the Contemporary. After the carriage ride I have a manicure set up for her at the GF and would pick her up and tell her we would ride around the monorail only to surprise her with the stay at the contemporary (which I had planned to decorate the room while she was getting the manicure).

So needless to say I'm in need of a backup plan (I was so set on the carriage ride thing I canceled the early ADR in the MK). Please help! Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Hmmm... rain is always in the way! Perhaps you can do something like this:

Do the manicure first, perhaps even make the appointment a little earlier if needed. This way, her ring finger is pretty and polished for the new bling that is to come. ;) While she is doing that, I would decorate the room like you said, perhaps even call the Disney Florist (http://www.disneyflorist.com/category/occasions/engagements/display) and see if you could have a nice little way for you to present the ring to her delivered to your room (like having the glass slipper on the pillow of roses or something). Then go pick her up and show her the new room and all of the pretty decor and pop the question! Then I would celebrate by ordering a romantic room service meal for the two of you. :lovestruc

I checked the weather, and it looks as if it should be a light rain towards the end of the day, so maybe you could just keep your eye on the weather and perhaps do the carriage ride after the meal, or just do it another day.

And that is how I would totally propose to myself if I could! :rotfl:

Edit: Forgot to add, if you do get the glass slipper or something, be sure to take it to be engraved while still on the Disney property with the date as a nice little keepsake for her. :)

Gosh I wish Disney hadn't changed in the last 10 years since Ive last been there, or I could try to come up with ideas for you.

I do have to say I love the PP's idea. I just wanted to wish you luck during your proposal.

Here's another idea to go along with the ring and you can have it made for her. Go onto Etsy or another Bridal Website and have a hoodie for her to wear saying Future Mrs. (your last name) or Future Disney Bride. I don't know if Disney is still doing the Just Engaged Buttons, but ask the front desk or Guest Services for a few to wear around. Just also don't forget to have a camera handy and do get pictures. You will regret not having a single picture of the day you got Engaged(believe me, I don't have a single picture to remember the day I got Engaged or Married and wish I did).

So, I just recently got engaged (in December), my DF was planning on proposing in Disney, but unfortunately our trip got cancelled. He then decided to do it on a carriage ride downtown (they decorate the downtown in Christmas lights). It was SO cold, and had like freezing rain. It was not ideal weather at all, but it was worth it... honestly it made it more special. That is my opinion though, and I know others would disagree.

Hey!

Just saw this thread and was wondering how it went? We got engaged in Disney World, and just getting engaged there as magical enough. :-)

I hope it all went well!!!!
