Upset with Disney photography

but then again, I imagine that Disney would take care of the matter quietly, so even if they did address it, we may never know, and that's a shame, we would like to know that our concerns are being taken care of!

Disney Photography has a phone number on their contact us page: http://www.disneyeventphotography.com/portraits/contact.php

Also, Ember was in contact with them about her bridal portraits. She may be able to give you an email or direct contact.

If I remember correctly, there *was* some kind of resolution for Ember that she wasn't entirely happy with, but Disney wouldn't let her post what that resolution was. So foolinthemoon is right ... we'll probably never know what Disney does for people who end up with poor quality photography.

I'm getting scared by reading some of these posts about Disney photography...we assumed that since it was Disney they would do a good job and why not use them if we're down there. We haven't had our planning session yet but I really don't want sucky pictures!

I am afraid that the majority opinion on the boards seems to be if you want to be sure of good photos, use an outside photographer as DPS are just too hit and miss!! You can request a certain photographer, but it is by no means certain that you will end up with your chosen photographer - many brides have ended up with people other than those requested.
Of course, you can omly use an outside photograper if you are not having your wedding actually inside a park. :thumbsup2

What strikes me is how many pictures you're obviously looking at another camera or cameraperson than the disney one!

That's just unacceptable! I'd be upset, too.

That's what I said as I looked at it. That's a shame. Causes me to think twice before I hire them!

Short answer - not a lot. Disney also refuses to take any sort of responsibility for the quality of their work. The line I was fed over and over was, "We are sorry you are not happy with your photos." This was followed up with a line about how Disney always tries to exceed customer expectations... Mmm hmm.

I am still not happy with Disney over the way they handled this situation, or with their "resolution," and have not been back to the parks since. I will give in eventually, I'm sure, but to date every time I think about Disney my blood boils a little.

That said, OP, if you're up for a fight with Disney, pursue it! If you want to pm me, I'll help in any way I can!

Ember, thank you so much. I remember seeing your pictures and imagining how heartbroken you were. I'm going to send you a PM.

Sorry you didn't like your pics love. I hope randy chapmans pics came out great for you!

Threads like this are what make me not want to have a DFTW. I'll be more than happy to part with the money it'll cost to do one as it's my dream, but I want to be married in the parks or at least have a reception in a park and seeing/reading about other peoples experiences with Disneys photography just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Needless to say, unless they change their in-park photography rules I'll be finding something a little closer to home for my wedding.

I do want to say though, that I appreciate your being discreet with the name of the photographer. Too many times these threads turn into witch hunts and forums for people to bash others. Thank you for keeping this civil, it's refreshing on here lately.

I fear that it is unlikely that Disney will change it's 'no outside photographers in the parks' rule. Unfortunately, they know that they have 'over a barrel', brides who are desperate to have in park ceremonies/receptions. They make too much money from brides who have to hire their photography services because of their ceremony/reception location and will not, I think, easily give that up!!

I agree with this, and I think it's reasonable IF they had consistant quiality; however, I feel that they have a responsibility to produce quality work.

Well said. :)

I have to wonder, though, why Disney allows outside photographers in Disneyland but not WDW. Doesn't seem fair. Or consistent. But I guess that's Disney. :sad2:

It's because there is no Disney Event Photography department at Disneyland. :thumbsup2

I sent another email on Monday and included a link to this thread as some posters suggested. Lo and behold, I got a voicemail that afternoon followed by an email about the voicemail. I now have a call scheduled on Monday. I will keep folks posted on how that goes.

I hope y'all can work something out to compensate for everything you were unhappy with. The harsh words can't be taken back, and the pictures can't be retaken... But maybe they can do something to make y'all happy! I'll be thinking about you.
