Upset with Disney photography

I agree that some of those pictures are just unacceptable. I hate to insult the photographer but many of the pictures are shots of you all getting your picture taken by Randy - who wants those kind of pictures? I was reading on the resort forum a few weeks back and one of the Dis wedding people had a problem with the honeymoon room so they e-mailed Disney and linked to the complaint thread here. They seemed to have gotten an immediate response that they were pleased with. Maybe if Disney knew that many potential brides were reading less than stellar reviews of their photographers they would be more likely to do something about it. You shouldn't be charged for those pictures. Some were decent shots but most were just bad photography. It has nothing to do with you BTW, you were absolutely beautiful and radiant. I'm happy that you at least have some shots from Randy!

I second this reccommendation. Poor quality seems to be a chronic problem with DFAP, and needs to be dealt with, especially with the prices they charge being so much more expensive than other, outside, more reasonably priced options.

Hi there, we just got married in May and got our Disney wedding pics back and i was so upset with them i had to wait a few days before emailing Disney to let them know how i felt. thank goodness we hired an amazing external photog - Jess Cumbie - and her pics are stunning. we also got the reply that Jess was the main photog and our Disney photog did not move much either. He also LEFT for 30mins to get more batteries for his camera. Unforgivable. Disney are not committing to giving me an adequate response but i will follow this up.

Randy Chapman is awesome! You can check out lots of PJs for his work given that many brides here hire him. I have some of his pics from our wedding day posted in my PJ if you want to see those to compare them to those done by our DPS photographer.

I wholeheartedly recommend Randy...I haven't gotten around to posting his photos in my TR yet (soon!) but he is the BEST vendor decision we made for our wedding.

Linda - I hope you find some resolution with DFAP. I see exactly why you're upset with your photos. What a poor representation of Disney. Funny how whenever DFTW posts photos on their Facebook page they are always beautiful - are they hiding someone who is actually talented from brides who are paying for their services??

I totally agree with all that has been said, you did not get the best of DPS that is for sure.

I would like to say that we did not hire an additional photographer, mostly because of the cost and my dad is a professional photographer and my one bridesmaid loves to take pictures. I will say this, I was more than pleased with our photographer, he even offered to allow my dad to borrow his lenses if he wanted. My did didn't end up taking to many pictures, and we absolutely loved the ones DPS took. It was hard to pick out the ones for our Escape album because there were so many good ones. It sound to me it is more of the luck of the draw kind of thing. I guess we just got luck.

I am so sorry to hear this happened to you, it should not be this way. Disney really needs to know about these issues. I wish I had all this info when my daughter went with DPS as her only Photographer. We where not happy with him at all. Yes he took SOME beautiful pictures but his attitude was not nice. Everyone remarked about his lack of professionalism. Because of a few comments on here, I had tried to book the Arndts and Randy on my own but both were booked that day. A lot of things did not go the way we expected but at the time you are at the mercy of Disney.

I agree that some shots should not have missing your husbands head and I too only saw about 3 shots with Randy (or his lense). I did like the one with Randy in it. As someone mentioned before it shows what is going on throughout the day. There was another thread on here about bad pics but they were blurred and very bad. I believe her name was Amber, and the outcome after complaining is not what she wanted and if im correct took years. At least you can pick some as she couldn't. I think the other issue is that you had 2 photographers and I know how hectic it was with just one, and again agreeing with a previous post that maybe he was trying to stay out of the way. Any inappropriate comments should not have been made, as well as sitting around.

Have you tried sending Disney a link to this thread? I'm somehow convinced they're unaware of how concerned people are about the unreliable quality of their work.

Knowing that it wasn't her fault, DH emailed our planner about the photographer's attitude when we got home, asking if there was anything she could do; we hadn't yet seen our pics. She said that she would forward the info. I got the survey on which I talked about our photographer's attitude and requested to be contacted; again, at that point, we hadn't seen the pictures. Once we did get the pictures, I replied to the person who sent us the link and have yet to hear anything back.

I did today email our planner again asking her if she has the contact info for anyone.

Exactly! If they don't think we don't talk, they are obviously wrong! Word will continue to spread, and at such HIGH costs, people are going to be giving Randy A LOT of work!

I agree with NoOrdinaryPrincess as well, maybe forwarding this link to them will make them a bit more aware.

but then again, I imagine that Disney would take care of the matter quietly, so even if they did address it, we may never know, and that's a shame, we would like to know that our concerns are being taken care of!
