Thanks everyone for all the comments and suggestions and sort of talking me off the ledge

I have looked at ticket prices and can see that short trips are more expensive and the value is in multiple days. My kids purchased tickets when we visited in October, my husband and I had APs so I never paid attention to what they spent but it was 360.00 each and it was for 9 days! I thought that was not a bad price for that many days. So when I looked up a 3 day ticket and it was 344.00 each I was just in shock.
We have brought family to Disney World and Hilton Head and love being able to stay in a villa. We have cruised using points for our 25th anniversary, stayed CL in AKV, and stayed in a 1br and 2brs . I love Disney and look forward to visiting
Disneyland and Aulani in the future. I just dont think I could ever go back to a standard hotel room

. My husband and I spent 10 days once and for the first 5 days never set foot in a park, I love the fact that we can take it easy and not feel like we have to hit the parks every day all day.
We needed a break from the world one year decided to book the Hilton Head Resort and it is because of
DVC that we just fell in love with the Hilton Head area and have since purchased a home there and will be re-locating in the next 2 years. I am hoping that when we finally move we can use our DVC for short trips that will not involve the cost of airfare and we will purchase APs again.
I have calmed down, and taken a deep breath thanks for listening.
I still have listed our smaller contract but I will hold on to our other one for a while, maybe rent the points to offset our dues or take a different vacation.
I think I just need some sun and palm trees and I may feel better
..
