Somebody mentioned in a thread about the delays needed to get shipboard entertainment back up and running and a thought occurred to me. And not sure I've ever seen it discussed.

Besides the money, is there any reason we don't see any big names on a DCL stage? Somebody with broad appeal like Jeff Dunham or Gabriel Iglesias or someone like that? I mean, I can see a couple reasons why that wouldn't work but I wonder if someone has the real skinny on this?

Probably because Disney tends to only showcase those performers that have a Disney connection.

Yeah, that would make sense. Although the entertainers on ABC (for example) don't really float my boat (ha!).

I would guess a big part of it is cost. The more well-known and entertainer is the higher the fees. I would also guess that some people just aren’t interested in coming and doing shows on a cruise ship.
