UPS or Fedex?

If you were shipping a box to the Polynesian, would you use UPS or Fedex, and why? I've got 23 pounds of snacks and juice boxes that needs to get there before we do!

I personally like UPS. To me, they are more accurate in the info given to you. You can monitor your shipment, and know exactly when it arrives, and who signs when accepting your package. I have my package arrive day before we arrive and I have my confirmation w/person who signed with me. Have never needed it and never had a problem using UPS to ship down to WDW and have done several times.
I've not used fedex for shipping to WDW, but for shipments to my home from suppliers, I've had to call fedex several times to figure out what comments mean in their tracking info.

We used FedEx because they deliver on Saturday, which was our arrival day. The package arrived a few days before, however we had put our resort confirmation number and arrival day on the address label, so it was held for us.

I really don't know how valid this is - but a cast member Oates on the DIS to use UPS because of the way other shipping services handle Lake Buena Vista addresses.

Actually it was to NOT use USPS, because they don't recognize some of the Lake Buena Vista addresses and items end up going to a warehouse first.

UPS and FedEX are fine; read the sticky at the top of the page for the addresses and how to label the box.

Despite the OBNOXIOUS auto-correct of my mobile device, I actually was talking about UPS. That part actually was not auto corrected! :)

Yep all postal mail goes to the Warehouses, stays, gets sorted and then goes to the resorts.

Dont use them.

I prefer FedEx. Shipping FedEx Ground is usually a lot cheaper than shipping via UPS.

OP - why ship? You could pack this stuff in a suitcase or you could just check your box (I'm assuming that you are flying) and even if you had to pay to check a bag, it will likely be cheaper than shipping costs. It will probably be a lot less banged up as well.

Our family operates under a strict policy of not checking luggage. Never ever.

That's not necessarily true. UPS Ground shipment for our last trip from St. Louis to WDW was $13.83 with insurance and after the convention fee charged by the resort . That was $10 cheaper than the $25 check fee. That was for a medium sized box that held a ton of clothes and snacks that we consumed requiring even less of a box back. The $25 Airline Fee was on AA. If you fly Southwest or have status and don't have a check fee, then ME and Resort Check In Service make that all a moot point.

All situations are different and economics and personal preference should be your guide.
