I placed an online order with Bath & Body Works and UPS stopped yesterday morning. I saw him drive in, so went to the door. I could hear packages being moved around (hope nothing got broke, it didn't sound like he was being very gentle!) for quite awhile. He finally came up to the door and said he was supposed to have a delivery for me, but he couldn't find it! Said he would "be back later" but he never did come back. Hopefully he will have found my package and will be back today.

Has that ever happened to anyone else?

USPS lost a package of mine a few weeks ago. Is your package being sent UPS all the way to delivery or is it going from UPS to the post office for delivery? What did your tracking say?

Yes. I had 2 packages from UPS that were supposed to be delivered on the same day (both said out for delivery on tracking) and the UPS truck got here, sat in the driveway for about 10 mins, and then he only delivered one package. I'm pretty sure he couldn't find the other one.

It did show up the next day, though.

Happens a lot here at work, though way more frequently with FedEx Ground. Vendor ships 5 boxes. 4 arrive Wednesday, the 5th Thursday or Friday.

UGH. I ordered $2400 of Disney gift cards from Target in 6 different batches. They were shipped by UPS "Mail Innovations" which works with the post office. Five were delivered last week and the 6th with $400 of Disney gift cards in it is in limbo and was last scanned on 12/2. I have called the USPS and UPS with no satisfaction. I am now on hold with Target.

I think it would surprise people how complicated the system for loading trucks is at UPS. And, how easy it is for a package to get placed the wrong place in the truck. My husband loads trucks for UPS, and he loads (with a high degree of accuracy) thousands upon thousands of packages per week. He gets less than one "misload" per week. But they do happen. Especially this time of year when trucks are loaded to the gills....literally with NO space for the driver to stand in the back. The loaders try to get things in logically so that the driver can take them off in order, but sometimes it's an "oversized" or "odd sized" package that won't fit where it's supposed to (the back of the truck has many designated areas, and stuff is supposed to go in a certain area, denoted by the PAL number on the package). But, if you are loading 1000 packages into a delivery van, sometimes it just isn't going to work the way it is supposed to.

The UPS on time delivery record is very very good....although I get when it is YOUR package that goes missing or gets delayed, it is very frustrating. No one does it on purpose. :-)

Two weeks ago, I was expecting a package from UPS, and when I went out to look for it, there was a package there, but it wasn't MY package. It was for someone the next street over. :confused3 Since I was on my way out the door, I dropped it off on her front porch and went to do my errands. When I came home, the UPS guy was standing on my porch holding a package, and he said "Uh, where's that package I delivered here earlier?" I told him that I delivered it to her becuase I wanted to see if my package was on her porch. :rotfl: He explained that he was delivering mine, then going to lunch, then going to do hers earlier, but he mixed them up. I guess it happens, but geez...what if I hadn't been honest and decided that I wanted to keep her package?? (which, BTW was mailed from WDW and based on what it said, it looked like something she bought in the park to have mailed home).

Last week I mailed a package (USPS PRiority mail) to someone in Ohio. Tracking says it was delivered last Friday, but she doesn't have it yet. She told me last night that yesterday she got something that the tracking showed had been delivered last Wednesday. Go figure. :headache:

I just checked the tracking number, hoping to see that it should be delivered today.

Nope. "Package contents were damaged in transit." :(

They are "attempting to notify the sender" about it.

I think I'll e-mail Bath & Body Works and tell them about it myself.

Hopefully I'll get the order next week as some of the items are Christmas gifts and our family Christmas is on the 21st. I placed the order December 1st, thinking it had PLENTY of time to get here. :(

My husband tells me order no later than Black Friday. Of course, I don't listen to him. :rotfl2: But, he tries. LOL.

I hope you get your package in time!!!

This was the first time in about 40 years' worth of ordering that something happened to the package so I think that's pretty good odds. :) I'm sure I'll either get a refund on my order or they'll send another one out as soon as they can.

I've just never had the UPS truck pull in the driveway and NOT be able to deliver the package.

And B&BW is usually extremely good at packing their boxes well to ensure a safe travel, so I'm just wondering what actually happened to it.

Fortunately not this year. I ordered DH's entire Christmas gift load from Amazon and signed up for the free trial of Prime to get the 2 day shipping and everything got here lickety split. Will cancel Prime on Christmas.

Wow!
i had a package supposed to delivered by UPS 9 days ago. I called last week and they said they delivered it 14 blocks away from my actual address!! I am still waiting for them to resolve this.
