$25 Gift Certificates for $2 plus 15% for College!

enter promo code PUMPKIN at checkout

I bought 4 $25 gift certificates for $8 and I'm giving them as Christmas gifts. Likely I will give 2 per couple, but, should I need to give an extra gift I'll have them to spare.

Many restaurants have a stipulation that the bill must be at least a certain amount in order to redeem the GC, but for those I selected, I don't see that being a problem for two to dine. I know when I've been given $25 restaurant GC, I've had to add to the bill, so I don't see this being unusual. I am aomewhat concerned that one receiver will know I got them so cheaply - only because she mentioned finding $25 GC for $10 (normal pricing on restaurants.com).

:teacher: Do you think it's thrifty, or tacky, to give a $2 gift that looks and spends like $25...but requires a minimum purchase? The recipient will have to spend at least $10 of their own money in food plus gratuity.

If I gave it as a gift, I would probably include a $15 gift card to go with it.

FWIW, I've done this using the Upromise link the past 2 times I ordered from Restaurants.com and they credited my account pretty quickly.

Are you saying you would give an additional $15 to the same place? What if that GC have a minimum purchase too?

Yes for the same place. I've never seen a GC with a minimum purchase...not saying that there aren't any...I've just never seen them:confused3
