I signed up for Upromise and registered my debit card with them.

DH got gas with the card at a Exxon/Mobil station, but that transaction is not showing up on my Upromise account.

How long does it take to show up? He got gas on 7/12.
Or is there something I need to do for it to show up? When I joined, my understanding was, register a card with them and use it at participating places and they would take care of the rest.

TIA!!! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

It takes awhile for it to show up on the account. Gas on 7/12 will not show up for at least 7-10 days. I've had upromise for a little less then 2 years and they haven't missed anything yet. Just that it takes a little time for them to put it on the account. I'd say if you don't see if after a month, write to them with receipt in hand.

I just checked my acct and it said something I purchased on 7/3 just showed up on 7/14. Hope that helps.

Thank you gctong for the reply! :wave2:

I will keep a watch on my Upromise account for it. And if it doesn't show up, will do excatley what you said about writing to them.

I'm pretty sure that if you use your debit card as debit card you do not get upromise points for it. You have to use it as a credit card to get the points.

We've used our debit card for upromise items (such as Exxon, certain food products at certain grocery stores and recently to book our next disney trip). Some of the credits to your account take longer to show up than others but they eventually show up.

You do have to use your debit card as a credit card when getting gas... I have had my upromise account for 2 years now and it really adds up! Good Luck

What exactly is Upromise? I know it has something to do with saving for your child's education (at least that is what I think it is.) I have been seeing more and more signs up about it around here, and would like to find out more. If anyone can provide any additional info, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Go check out www.upromise.com for details. Basically, if you shop at participating stores or buy products from participating vendors, they will kick back a percentage into your Upromise account. The funds will sit there until you open an actual Upromise 529 account with Fidelity (I think?) Investments. Once you link the accounts together, the money you earn from shopping will periodically be transferred over into your investment account. I've been doing this for about 18 months and already have about $130 dollars for my children by doing nothing more than I would have otherwise done!

Hope this helps!

I use my debit card too. I also have my Mobil Speed Pass linked to that card for extra points. You get quarterly statements with all your info on it. I have $180 so far! I love it. Don't forget that you can get credit for shopping at the DisneyStore online if you go to UPromise first and link to TDS from there.

Do I have to link my debit card for the grocery stores or does it work just with the stores card like Pick n Save's customer card.

You can use cash or checks if you want as long as you scan your shopper card with the cashier.

I have UPromise also, and sometimes it takes almost 2 weeks for transactions to show up. It is well worth it, though. I have already received $90 (I cashed out some - I didn't want to leave it all there in case something suddenly happened to UPromise!) - I took the $$ and put it in one of my son's 529 accounts. Basically, it was free money! I always buy my gas at Exxon/Mobil, and it really builds up quickly!

i just got my cards, even though i signed up for Upromise months ago. i have my debit/credit card assigned to the account. do i have to show my Upromise card to get any kickbacks (like at the grocery), or just by using my debit i'm covered?

also, i just spent some money at publix and got the card at the same time. is it too late to have that purchase added to my account?

thanks!!

Do you mean your UPromise credit card?

As long as you use either your store shopper card or debit/credit card, you get credit for purchases. You have to make sure all of those cards are registered with UPromise though.
I don't have a UPromise card.
