Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

Thought I posted sooner then now, but I am here. Great update, love the view from your villa.

Thanks again for the postcard.

Ahhhh his and her bathrooms! :goodvibes Would love to have a Mom's and everybody elses bathroom on our trip! :rotfl: Such great pictures - they make me reconsider my Poly fetish and think about staying there when we go back after our upcoming trip! ;)

I said it before and I'll say it again - I LOVE those villas!!!! LOVE them! Thanks for all the great pictures!

I'm just glad that you are loving Kidani! It's really coming through in your posts.

I know how you love giraffes, so it was cool to see that picture of you with them in the background.

Absolutely breathtaking...the rooms, the view, everything is just gorgeous! I remember again why it was so depressing again on check out day....I didnt' want to leave!

Love the tile, wish our room had had that. I just fell in LOVE with the wood-carved furniture. They were hand carved by African craftsmen...just beautiful!! :thumbsup2

Wasn't it hard to leave the view of animals to go to the parks? We were never able to make a park rope drop the whole trip. :rolleyes1

We never went to the parks the two nights we were at AKL--that was the plan; we just wanted to enjoy.

Checking in! Wow page 15 already!:thumbsup2

Welcome, Tammie. Delighted to have you here.

Your villa looks amazing!! I love the picture of Mark looking out the window at the animals, you can tell he is smiling

He was smiling...and really big. :)

Kathy, I covet that jacuzzi tub in *your* bathroom. It's wrong, I know. *hangs head in shame*

What an amazing room. Some day. I've always said that my dream is to stay at the Poly but once I saw AKL in person, forget it. I want to live there! The rockers by the fire pit were a dream. I am so glad you had a wonderful vacation this year.

Honey, it's not wrong...I covet it too; and let me tell you...it was spectacular.

My favorite deluxe was the Poly...UNTIL I stayed at AKL.

What a beautiful resort! I am also in love with the jacuzzi tub! ::yes:: looks like you had lots to observe. The mama giraffe and her baby are so cute!!

Thanks, Christine...it truly is beautiful.

Love the pictures.:lovestruc

I love the Lion King tile in the bathroom. We didn't have that when we stayed at Jambo house.

I loved the carpet and the drapes. Okay, I loved everything. I had no problem not going to the parks on the 3 days we stayed at AKL. There is so much to see and do.

Wow nice tub....hope you got to use it a couple of times!

Yup that's the same drapes we had, love all the details in them!

Hey that's my baby and mama giraffe....they were outside our room every morning at Jambo...its got to be the same ones....I  giraffe's!

Yes, I took a couple of soaks in that jacuzzi tub!

We can share the baby giraffe. :)

Gorgeous, and the room aint too shabby either :rotfl2:

The bathroom is soooo nice, I would love to sit and soak in that tub after a long day at the parks.

I did...and we didn't even go to the park.

I'm here Kathy!!

Wow I can see why you burst into tears when seeing the villa. How beautiful!!:lovestruc

Love seeing all the animals right out off the balcony. I would love to stay there someday.

It's so funny how your husband wears all Grumpy just like my DH. And like yours my DH is the most gentlest, kindest most easy going guy I know. And he really never gets Grumpy.:) (That is me instead):rotfl:

Doreen, you truly have to see it to understand it.

Wow that bathtub is nice! I love all the details in everything and the Lion King tiles in tub are too cute.

You are going to love, AKL...I really believe that.

Oh my! I have to say I love the tile mural in the bathroom and the view! Just imagine if it was possible to get that view while soaking in that tub! I love everything about your room! You have me so excited for January!

I'm glad I was able to get you more excited.

WOW!! thats all I can say...I am just enjoying the pictures of your villa and the animals so much :goodvibes It is soooo beautiful there and I can't imagine seeing all of those awesome animals at a resort, from a hotel room!! Amazing :goodvibes

Shannon, I was speechless when we walked in...I just couldn't believe it.

That tub is amazing! The whole thing is incredible, really. I love AKL so much and it looks like Kidani is every bit as incredible. I can't even imagine sitting on my balcony and seeing those animals. I could easily stay there for a week and not do anything but hang at the resort. In fact, its my dream to go at Christmas and stay there, that way if the parks are too crazy, we'd have so much to do. :goodvibes

Tina, I've run out of words to describe it...but incredible is a good one. We hope to be back soon.

That room is so nice!! And the resort is gorgeous. I wish I had horns like that one animal so I could just turn and scratch my rear with them when needed. :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

omg.. can I be your friends friend too! lol! I want to stay there SO bad!

Great pics again! i really get such a better sense of AKL now! I loves the momma and baby giraffe!!

Jenn, you and the kids and Bob would love it.

Beautiful resort and excellent theming. You just made me second guess my choice to book Wilderness Lodge insteak of AKL.:lmao:

I've never been a WL fan, but AKL is just so impressive.

I love that tile mural of Lion King in the bathroom! I would stay there just to look at that. I love the animal pictures too. What a gorgeous resort!

I would love to do that to my bahtroom.

Your room and view were amazing! I wish I could talk John into staying at the AKL one day but he wants a tropical theme instead.

Perhaps you should John the pictures; it is such a relaxing place.

Kathy, your room at AKL is just beautiful! We are seriously considering a split stay between AKL and the Beach Club next summer, it looks amazing! Can't wait for you to post the rest of your trip report. :goodvibes

Laura, it is amazing, and I think a split stay would be a great idea (that's what we did this year).

Those Lion King tiles in the bathroom are awesome. Beautiful work. It must be incredible to see those animals right outside the room.

I'm guessing you went to the pool out of a desire to explore every inch of the property.

You'll have the answer to that soon.

Jordan, you are so right.:love::love::love::love:

It looks like you guys had a great start to your trip! (Sorry...I'm just now catching up!)

Kelly, do not apologize...you have a wedding to prepare for.

I seriously want to redo my bathroom AKV style. More great pics!!!

Me too. And more pics coming up.

I think everyone has said it over and over... but I have to agree.

AMAZING room!!!!:goodvibes

Totally agree, Ann.

WOW...I love all the Disney details in the room! The Lion King tiles, the hidden Mickeys in the carpet (esp. the animal print one) and the sheer drapes. very cool! I also love the "My bathroom" and "Mark's Bathroom" Way to go!:thumbsup2

Can I go back and change all my answers to your questions to N/A because they could never bring themselves to leave AKV???:lmao:

Heather, I've never seen anything like it. And of course there had to be a Hers and His with two bathrooms. Nope, no changing answers.

Thought I posted sooner then now, but I am here. Great update, love the view from your villa.

Thanks again for the postcard.

You are so welcome for the postcard.

Ahhhh his and her bathrooms! :goodvibes Would love to have a Mom's and everybody elses bathroom on our trip! :rotfl: Such great pictures - they make me reconsider my Poly fetish and think about staying there when we go back after our upcoming trip! ;)

Amy, I do love my own bathroom. I have to be totally honest with you...as much as I love the Poly and our number of stays there, it does NOT compare to the AKL.

I said it before and I'll say it again - I LOVE those villas!!!! LOVE them! Thanks for all the great pictures!

MEK, how could I have ever doubted you? ;) And you are welcome.

I'm just glad that you are loving Kidani! It's really coming through in your posts.

I know how you love giraffes, so it was cool to see that picture of you with them in the background.

Thanks, Glenn. I still don't think the photos do it justice, but I certainly did love it. :lovestruc

Absolutely breathtaking...the rooms, the view, everything is just gorgeous! I remember again why it was so depressing again on check out day....I didnt' want to leave!

Queen, it was truly hard to leave.

I left you with Mark getting ready for the pool. I chose NOT to go swimming. I know...what is wrong with me? It's 90 degrees in Florida and I don't want to go swimming. But I just could NOT leave that view. I did walk Mark down to the pool so I could take a look around.

And the ONLY picture I took during that time? It was Mark in the hot tub:

I went back to the room and just sat on the patio and soaked it all in. I wrote out a couple of postcards that I had promised to send to some DIS kids and then took a bath in that beautiful jacuzzi tub.

When Mark came back to the room, there was a knock on the door. I was told we had a delivery and was handed this:

Inside we found these goodies:

In case you don't recognize the names, that is our good friends, Tim and Mel, parents of the beautiful Princess Juliana and new arrival Christopher Michael. Tim's DIS name is that's nice.

Tim, Mel, Ana and Christopher -- although we thanked you by text message and Facebook, we send our sincerest thanks once again. It was a beautiful gesture and totally not necessary. But we thank you for your thoughtfulness, but more importantly your friendship.

I'll have to stop here...photobucket is giving me issues.

Up next: DTD and dinner and the first DIS meet of the trip

Oops....I got behind on a couple of posts. All caught up now! Your pictures are great. It definitely seems like a very relaxing resort. I do love the curtains with the Lion King characters. And what a sweet gift y'all got! I have to say "Thank You" again for Reid's postcard. He was so excited! And it is on his dresser next to his picture of him & Peter Pan.

Well, well, what do ya know? I arrived at just the right time! :lmao::lmao:

The goodie bag looks awesome. What neat things inside. What exactly is the bat? A decoration? Wine stopper? Very cool looking!!!:goodvibes

Wow, Ms. Kat! When you update you update!! :woohoo:

I love reading and seeing AKL through your eyes. You had me tearing up when you said you started crying, something so magical about Disney that does that to us. :goodvibes I remember walking into the AKL lobby for the first time and thought I would pass out with all there was to see, I can't imagine walking in there knowing I would be staying there!

On our trip in 2013 it's my plan to stay there for a couple of nights, just so we can say we stayed there. The more I see your pics the more I'm getting excited about staying there. :yay:

Tim and Mel are so sweet, I love how they spoil you two when you go to Disney.

Wow, awesome surprise from the that's nice family! I guess Tim really can be a nice guy when he tries.:lmao:

Looks like some time well spent relaxing and taking advantage of that beautiful resort.

I read your post BEFORE I left for work so I could see the pics.

Mark looks way toooooooo relaxed in that hot tub!

I absolutely love your little back pack with all the goodies. What an absolutely lovely gift.

I am glad I was not the only one with photobucket issues last night. I almost abandoned my update completely. so frustrating! :headache:
