Anyone travel with an uppababy before. Contemplating bringing our own stroller so we have something at airport

Yup ours has taken several trips to the world. We have the old travel bag uppababy sells. The new one includes insurance so if the airline damages it uppababy will repair or replace for free. Our dd was very comfy her whole trip. Pushing it was a breeze. The large strange area was great because we could fit our whole backpack there. If I had one kid who needed a stroller I would not hesitate to bring it again.

We opted not to take our Vista because I had read that some airlines will not allow you to bring such large full-size strollers (or may charge you baggage and require that you check-in your stroller). I love our Vista and would have liked to take it but schelpping through the airport and onboard the plane to gate check-in with the big stroller and a car seat in addition to DD and all or our carry-on gear might have been too much for us.

We got an UppaBaby G-Luxe instead and found it great for travel. We also got one of the stroller bags for the G-Luxe that comes with the damage insurance.

The only airline that currently limits the size of gate checked strollers is american. No airline limits the size of strollers to be checked at the luggage desk.

We have not taken our UBV to the world yet, but we have traveled with it many times. DS loves having something familiar and I need to have a stroller for him in the airport. We plan on taking it with us to the world in September which is also DS's first trip to the world.

for the input. We need it for both kids and feel like it will be easier to get around the parks than a city mini rental.

How do you feel the sunshade is? My DS HATES the sun. I wondering if it would sufficiently cover him.

It's fabulous! The biggest one ive seen. Besides the regular shade there is a built in extender that more than doubles the size. Depending on how big he is it will probably completely cover him

We took our Uppa Baby Vista (but we were driving...so kinda a no brainer) and loved having it. My only value-add is we typically take the BOB, but went with the Uppa Baby since it has more storage under it....which made for some awesome boat & bus folds! I've heard good things about the City-Mini, but wow how our DD (just under 2) conked out under the sun-shield of the Uppa in Animal Kingdom last trip...

Took our Uppa when DD was 4 months and it was great... For her. She was comfy, tons of storage, handles like a dream... But on those busses? Nightmare. Crowded bus plus large folded stroller (which is heavy!) was a huge pain. If we had a car, yes absolutely (and would walk to avoid that tram in the parking lots!). No car? No way for me. Now DD is 3 and we have a First Years Ignite umbrella stroller and it's great for this age.
