Hi!

We've made our reservations for our first trip home, but have a long way to wait until December. So, I check the boards everyday and wonder what it will be like..;)

Since I have all this time to think, I have a question. Okay, since we're going in December the parks close early. My kids love Disney Quest and I seeing them going every night since we'll be at SSR. My question is now I'll have to buy the UPH instead of the Park Hopper tickets right? We were'nt planning on going everyday to the parks since we want to see the different resorts at Christmas and my husband wants to golf. If I buy tickets at DQ with the Park Hopper then we can only go one day and have to stay there all day to get our monies worth.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Deb

If you really will be spending most every evening at DQ, I'd buy the UPH tickets. Remember, DVC members get a 10% discount and if it works for your schedule, you could ask to drop the arrival and departure days from your ticket.

That said, we go every year in early December and never have enough evenings to do everything we want to do and see. It takes planning and COMMITMENT to get everything in, LOL! There's SPECTRO, WISHES, MVMCP, Fantasmic, Osborne Lights, Illuminations, CP, Lights of Winter, PI, DD tree lighting ceremony, and probably more (JellyRolls??). Are you sure you'll want to spend so much time at DQ? :teeth:

Best wishes -

The DisneyQuest annual pass is only about $84 per adult, $67 per child. Give that some thought, combined with your hopper passes for the parks.

How many days will you be staying on this trip & will you be back within a year? If it's 8 or more days or if you'll be back again within one year you may want to consider Premium Annual Passes.

8 days is the break even for the "plain" annual pass. It is considerably more for the PAP - 12 or 13 days IIRC.

The OP wll have to do the math after her family decides on their tourng plans.

My kids also love DQ. This past Dec. we bought the fun in the sun passes from paramount. they costed 310 per person and were good for 30 day from your first day in the park. Included with this deal was all four parks, water parks, PI and Disney quest. We went to Dq at least three times and PI also for the first shows in the evening. My kids enjoyed the comedy club. This company give us character breakfast vouchers with the passses and saved us $100. at chef mickeys. We visited the hotels also because it was christmas and did this mostly on our way home from a park. We bought some Q & C meal vouchers from hotwire and ate in their food courts. It gave us something to do once we were there. The only down side were these passes are good for 30 days and i had to leave after 13 and they do expire. Have fun, Gina

Thanks for the clarification. :D

FunHouse8,

Can you give me the website of where you purchased the Fun in the Sun passes? That sounds like what we are looking for. We did price out UPH and discounted Park Hoppers and Fun in the Sun passes would only be 20.00 more than the Park Hoppers.

We are staying for 8 days and not planning to come back for a couple of years since we just went last October. We come from California so we usually go every other year. We just couldn't wait to try DVC!

Thanks Everyone!

The Fun In The Sun pass was largely intended for use by International guests. Paramount used to sell them domestically, but they no longer appear on the company's web site:

You could probably try calling around, but there are no guarantees.

I don't ever recall someone saying that WDW denied them entry on this pass, but most people using them indicated that Disney CMs at the turnstiles would often make the statement "I thought only people from other countries were allowed to use those". Perhaps Disney finally cracked-down on US vendors selling these passes.

I think remember seeing something about the Fun In The Sun Tickets in this month's Mousesavers newsletter. Unfortunately, I deleted mine so I don't have the info any more. Anyone?

I have my Mousesaver. Thank you for mentioning it. I read about the discount on the Park Hoppers but didnt read about the Fun in the Sun tickets.

I would hate to buy Fun in the Sun tickets and them not work. I'll have to read what they say about it in the Mousesaver. Thanks again!

I used them in Jan and had no problem what so ever. It took the CM at the gate a little while to firgure out what code to puch in for these passes but after one phone call We received our passes. she didn't say anything about us being from another country and I did read all the small print one my passes because I heard this on these boards and no where on these passes does it state that you can't be from the US. We showed our ID and we are from NY. Paramount didn't have them located on there site when I called and I just asked them for these and had them in my hand in two-three days. It was the best pass for us. I'm on my sons computer and don't have the web page saved. Let me know if you still need it and I'll look tomorrow. good luck and have a magicial vacation.
