My parents are joining us in Dec. for a week at the BWV. My mom has decided she'd prefer to use the UPH passes over regular 5 or 6 day park hoppers. I just want to confirm that what I've told her (which is my understanding of what I've read here....) is correct and this will really be the best way for her to go when purchasing passes. My dh, ds and I are AP holders (and dd is under 3), so we don't need to purchase passes ourselves.

First of all, it has been my understanding that guests of DVC members are eligible for the 10% UPH discount. Is this correct? Will my mom be able to pay for her passes using her own credit card? Or will I have to purchase them for her as the member (meaning mom will have to bring a pile of travelers' checks to hand to me so I can pay for the passes)?

Also, I want to confirm that the resorts have still been allowing guests to drop the first and last days from the UPH when purchasing at check in. My parents arrive in the afternoon our first day and we're going to the HDD, as well as having to go for groceries...so there won't be time to visit parks that day, and we have a similar situation for our last day....so we'd want to drop the first and last night.

Oh, and a separate question relating to guests....if we're staying in a 2br lockoff (are there dedicated 2br's at BWV?) would it be possible for my parents to put their own credit card on their room keys (ie, the ones to the studio portion of the villa) and for us to put our card on our keys? or can only one card be put on all room keys for one reservation?

Also, we will be checking in earlier than my parents....will we be getting the room keys for everyone? Or can my parents do their own check in later and get their passes, etc... after we're already checked in?

Thanks for your patience in reading all this! I just want to get a picture of how this will all work, because I'm going to have enough on my hands with introducing 2 newbies to WDW (and flying...their first flights ever and I'm picking them up at the airport, making sure they find their luggage, etc...)

My understanding is that guests staying in the same unit as a DVC member do receive the 10% discount on UPH tickets. Many posters have reported that the CM will allow you to drop either the day of arrival, the day of departure or both upon request. I do not know for sure if your Mom can pay for her own ticket, but am reasonably sure this would be allowed.

All the two bedroom units at BWV are lock offs. Only one credit card can be used for charging back to the room. However, it is relatively easy to keep track of who made the charges - they will be identified on your bill by room key ID.

If you add your parents name to the reservation, they can go to the front desk and get their own room keys without you being present. They could check in before or after you. I would suggest you do that and that your Mom ask to purchase her UPH ticket at that time. She should get the member discount. If both you and your parents have a vehcile, they can also get a parking pass at that time.

Enjoy your trip!
