Hello all,

im not sure if this is possible or even done at Disney. We currently have an upcoming stay at BCV in about a week. We are booked in a studio currently. I was wondering if i were to try and see if a 1 bedroom was available if they could upgrade me at the desk for a discounted rate? I don’t mind paying at all but I’m wondering if it might be cheaper to wait and see at the desk than upgrading now. We are happy with the studio, but the 1 bedroom does look nice and we cut spending elsewhere so I’m thinking of using it to get a 1 bedroom. we wouldn’t be upset if we were told the 1 bedrooms were sold out when we got there, but I’m just wondering if that is something that is even possible to do.

Before I was DVC, I always paid rack rate when upgrading at the resort..which I did because I wanted the change.

If you are on DVC rented points, do not ask because they will charge the owner the additional points for the move,

Not sure how things will be handled now for upgrades, but I do know that BCV, even 1 bedrooms, seem to be booked solid on the DVC side as I am headed there in 3 days.

While rooms for cash are a different set of inventory, it may be tough but you can certainly ask!

I am not renting points, it is booked through Disney directly. there is availability online right now, that I will keep checking tomorrow and the next day before our 5 day mark. if it will just end up being the same price if I wait until the front desk then I may do it now if we decide.

BCV was pretty busy last week and we couldn't get into our villa until after 4PM. I wouldn't count on any upgrades.
