We're heading to the Parks with 5-day hoppers staying off property; We will be upgrading to AP's (Our first ones!) :dance3:.

Question is around timing - Once we use our Early Entry - is there any reason to wait to upgrade to AP? We're planning on hitting Goofy's Kitchen the night of our Early Entry and would like to use the discount - if there is one....any insights appreciated! Thanks

If you are upgrading to any pass other than the premium, the only other thing to check is blockouts. If you've used your early entry and there are no blockout days during your stay, then upgrade. With a premium pass, there is a 15% discount at most Disney food places including Goofy's, and there is a 10% discount with the other APs. Currently there are also temporary (until the end of 2011) merchandise discounts, 20% off at most merchandise locations with a premium and 10% with any other AP. Non-Disney downtown Disney locations often give AP holders discounts, usually 10% off, and several of the Anaheim Garden Walk restaurants give AP discounts as well.

Thanks LTDL - I checked, there are no blackout dates the remainder of our stay....We're upgrading to Deluxe AP's - so will be checking around to see where the discounts can be used....thanks for the reply....

If there are no blackout dates for the remainder of your trip I would upgrade as soon as you use the early entry, then you can start getting discounts on food, etc.
