Upgrading to AP and how it affects my FT+ selections

I wanted to hear from others who have experience with this - my family will be going to Disney World in a few months. I purchased a 10 day hopper however our plans now allow for us to stay longer so we would like to upgrade our tickets when we arrive to an AP.

I can get a discount thru our DVC for the AP. I found out that we will need to use our current 10 day hopper at least once before we can upgrade and that I need to make sure that the CM is charging the correct price difference.

What I am trying to figure out is will I be able to keep our current FP+ selections given two exceptions?

The first exception is if we use the original 10 day ticket "early" will the system take away a day that is currently scheduled for FP+ selections later on in the trip? After the first day is started we would then be down to 9 days after that until we upgrade our tickets.

Second part of the question - by upgrading to an AP (after we use our 10 day hopper at least once) will our current FP+ selections go away?

Thank you for any feedback - it helps with my planning!

We upgraded to an AP on our last trip and FP+ selections were not affected at all. They are connected to your MDE account, so the AP would just be added to that. Have fun!

We upgraded our MYW tickets to APs on our last trip and it did not affect our FP+ selections for subsequent days.
