Upgrading to annual pass, fast pass question

I waited on pins and needles for the free dining promotion and managed to get our preferred resort on the days we wanted. As part of the promo we purchased 3 day park hoppers. We are going for 10 days and plan to upgrade Florida Resident Annual passes when we arrive. I'm not able to book fast passes for 7 of our days. Any ideas??? I think the only way to upgrade tickets is in the property. Is that right?

1. That's how it works.
2. You COULD call and upgrade your current ticket to TEN days, then
you could advance-book 10 days of FP+.
3. You could THEN upgrade the 10-day ticket to AP when you arrive.

I'm not sure of the PRICE difference between a 10-day hopper and a
FL Res. AP.
If the 10-day hopper costs more than the AP, you might lose money in the upgrade.
Another option is to call and upgrade your 3-day Hopper to a 10-day BASE ticket.
(If that makes the cost closer to the FL Res, AP.)
Then, when you arrive, you could upgrade to AP, which is automatically a "hopper."

This is one of the many ways that free dining is never really free - there's always a price to be paid.

I'd switch your 3 day hoppers to 10 day hoppers now, so you can book FPs. I think you have to stick with hoppers as part of free dining. You'll be paying more now, but you will pay less when you upgrade. Do your upgrade asap on your trip, so you can take advantage of the AP discounts!

I think that as long as the upgraded ticket costs MORE than the minimum ticket,
being a Hopper may not necessarily be a factor.

OP should make sure that whatever ticket they ultimately end up with costs LESS than the AP they want.
