Well, our fearless moderator SherryE was able to put multiple UNused passes towards her AP last year. I don't think she expects that it will happen again, but she's planning to try. I believe what she was told is that UNused passes are as good as cash, or something like that.
Different CMs will give different answers...it's one of the biggest frustrations of disney!
I didn't use Hoppers, mind you. And there was no expiration date on my tickets. I have accumulated several
one-day/one-park tickets - all unused - and I used 3 of them last October (because "
Disneyland views them as money/currency") towards my Premium AP. I had called a couple of times to check and confirm this and the CMs checked with the Bank to be sure. Also, I did this transaction at the ticket booth, in person,
not through the mail. They may not allow the exact same procedure through the mail in the way I did it in person.
I called Guest Services again a few weeks ago and asked if I could once again use this method to renew the AP this year, and the CM wasn't sure so she checked with the DLR Bank, and they again said, yes, I "definitely still can," as long as the one-day/one-park tickets have not been used and have no expiration date. Once they are used, then you can only use one of them to upgrade to a higher level Hopper or AP. But if they stay unused, they are viewed as money by Disney. However, it
may work differently with Hoppers than it does with the one-day/one-park tickets. And the last CM I spoke to about it said that perhaps some of the less seasoned CMs don't know that you can do this, while the more educated ones realize you can. But, again, it
may be different with Hoppers that have expiration dates on them.
Yes, different CMs will give different answers, but I knew specifically what to say and what to ask for because I had done it last year, and I know my tickets are one-park/one-day tickets. They may not allow this transaction for Hoppers, but you can always make sure the CM checks with the Bank if you don't trust their answer.
