upgrading tickets with split stay

Split stay and new ressie ticket upgrade question. We are taking a ladies only trip during free dining. One of the gals mother and child are going to come and meet her the day we check out and they will all 3 check in on a new resservation. If they only purchase one day tickets, can they upgrade only 2 of the tickets to 3 or 4 day tickets since she could have days still left on hers. We are making our reservation with one day tickets only and then going to upgrade them on arrival to 5 day tickets. So I guess I have to as on that when we upgrade to 5 day can she upgrade to 8 day. I hope this question makes sense. Thanks. I know the initial reservation has to be made with all tickets the same.

Yes. When/once you check in, you can upgrade any ticket independent of any other ticket.

Thank you. I thought that was true, but somewhere in the back of my head I thought someone once said they had trouble doing this
