UPGRADING Tickets to APs + EMH???

I have seen people talking about upgrading their MYW tickets to APs and I am confused ... If I were to book a room, DDP, and 1 Day MYW tickets I would be able to upgrade to APs once I got there? How do you do this? We are a family of 2A and 2C , so the MYW are right around $200 and the APs right around $1600 - would I just have to pay the $1400 difference? Also - if you are using APs can you still use EMH ? I thought that it was my MYW ticket that got me into AM EMH last time ? I guess for the evening EMH you would just show your room key to get a wristband? Thanks for clarifying for me

We've done this before and are doing it again this year. We bought the one day tickets with our package to get the free dining but we want AP's. We will take our tickets to any Guest Services (parks or downtown Disney, not your resort) and ask to upgrade each ticket to an AP. They apply the price you paid for that one day ticket toward the price of the AP.

EMH is for all Disney Resort guests, no matter what type of ticket you have. You have to show a valid resort ID to get the wrist band and you are all set.
