Can you upgrade tickets booked with a package from Disney to an annual pass? I tried doing this earlier at MK this morning and was told that I would only get the price of the value of the tickets rather than the price of the actual tickets (meaning they can't bridge the prices), but I read on the dis that if you use your tickets at least once, they will bridge the price. I even asked the club level staff and they told me the same thing. Did something change?

Try again. Tickets bought from Disney at full price cannot be bridged, but tickets bought as part of a package can.

1. Yes.
2. Are you saying that you DID already USE the tickets to go into the park BEFORE trying to upgrade?
3. So much bad info from CMs. Far too much!
4. Nothing has changed.

1. (addendum) You most certainly can UPGRADE tickets bought either as part of a WDW resort package -or- tickets bought separately.
But, if you want the ticket price BRIDGED in an upgrade transaction (as in your specific other reference,)
you CAN get bridged tickets bought in a package, but no bridging on tickets bought
from Disney at the gates or ordered on line or by phone.

Price bridging requires that you use the ticket first. Did you?

I asked the same thing, but the OP specifically said this...
I read on the dis that if you use your tickets at least once, they will bridge the price.
so, I'm guessing that the tickets were used first.

Still looking for a specific answer.

I did it on Saturday. I also didn't bother asking questions when I suspected I'd get the wrong answer. I knew the price i should be paying (price of ap - what I paid) and when they did their thing in the computer, that was the number they told me. However, I suspect that if I would have asked, they would have told me what you were told.

Guest relations OUTDIDE the parks seemed a little bit more knowledgable too. (You have to have the magic bands of whoever you are upgrading, too, just FYI, though kids under 18 don't have to be present).

Yes we've already used 3 of our 6 day park hoppers. Which is why it doesn't make sense that the price wouldn't be bridged @Robo

We were told that tickets bought through a package are "discounted" tickets. But when adding up the pricing of what we have, it doesn't add up right. That would make our standard view club level room around $650 a night which is not what I booked. I booked a RO discount for around $400 a night. And guest services told me that I paid only $294 for our 6 day park hoppers.

Doing the math on this doesn't really matter.

ALL tickets bought as part of a WDW Resort Package are considered "discounted" tickets by Disney.
(It's because those tickets are "sold" (internally) by Disney to the WDW "Resorts Department" at a discount
over the gate price.)

Yup. Thanks for your answer.

You simply got the wrong CM(s.)
Go to another ticket window or Guest Relations (I recommend one inside a park) and try again.
This problem has come up often on the DIS and, if the guest continued to follow-through, the results
turned out positive for that guest.

I'm at AK right now and the price still didn't bridge over. Not sure if it's because I'm upgrading to the premier annual passport or not, but I'm not even going to bother anymore.

Have you used the phrase "price bridging"? If not, do it.

The concierge wouldn't know. Don waste time with anyone except the CMs who can look it up in their computers.

To make things as clear as I can...
The CMs who are not following policy are CHEATING YOU as sure as if they over-charged you when purchasing a ticket.

"Price-briding" is not some special "hidden trick" that you are trying to maneuver.
It is a standard policy DESIGNED BY DISNEY to make sure that tickets purchased from their "sales partners"
(authorized ticket resellers, INCLUDING the WDW RESORTS) are of the same value as those tickets bought at
the Disney gates or from Disney on-line.

If you accept a bad deal in your upgrade, you are accepting being short-changed.
I urge you to please try again and get your correct treatment and price.

Is it possible to get a refund on the difference? I pretty much gave up earlier because the CM was taking a long time and I just decided to just pay the difference myself.

Yes.
I've been involved in/followed along with many of these ticket overcharge situations

Take your receipt to another Guest Relations and explain the overcharge.
If the CM knows her/his stuff, you'll get a refund.

Can I then upgrade 3 day Park tickets I bought on the Disney Web site to AP?

I just would pay the difference is that correct?

2. Yes.

The upgrade can be done at any time after you get to WDW.
The latest that the upgrade can be done is before close-of-business on the same day that
you use that ticket's last park entry. or 14 days after the ticket's first use, whichever is sooner.

Well we upgraded our three day park passes to anual passes on July 2 when we were at HS. Get home and we get our magic bands the discount cards are in there guess what they have the date that I originally bought the three day pass tickets May 1. I had to call up to get them to fix it to July 2 the first day I used to park passes so just goes to show you got to be careful upgradeing and to get the right date that it expires.
