I know there are a couple of other posts regarding this and I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, but we have a trip planned for January. We have 9 day base tickets attached to our package. Can I upgrade these tickets to an annual pass? How could I figure out how much upgrading would cost? Thank you so much!!

1. Yes.
2. Subtract the cost of a 9 day base ticket from the cost of an AP. Pay that difference price.

Be sure to actually USE that original ticket to go into a theme park at least once BEFORE you do the upgrade.
(Yes, use the original ticket at least once before upgrading it.)

I think you can only upgrade it on the first day you use the ticket (& need to still be in the park), so be careful not to leave the park that first day without upgrading.

You can upgrade it up to 14 days after you first use it at any guest service counter. (I find the easiest one to get to if driving is Disney Springs at Disney Quest) Based on how you use it you may only be able to upgrade it to Platinum Plus. Call (407)560-PASS they can answer all your questions.

Not true. You can upgrade as long as it is still a valid ticket, being 14 days after first use. What you may be confused about is that the AP ticket will use the first date used as its valid/expiration date. So, if you went to the park on Feb 1, then on the 5th day (Feb 5) decided to upgrade to AP, the expiration date will be Feb 1st of the next year.

Thanks for the clarification!:flower3:

We've done this a few times...

Definitely works better to use your ticket at least once before upgrading. Especially if you purchased the ticket at a discounted price since they'll honor the effective 'gate price' for the ticket you are upgrading from if it's used. This was the BEST TIP I ever received on these boards!!

So, just to make sure I understand this correctly... I bought 7 day passes a few weeks ago in anticipation of the rates increasing soon. I don't plan to use the passes until February 2017. If the ticket prices increases before we go to Disney AND I use at least one day of the tickets we have, when/if I upgrade to an annual pass they will apply the current price of my ticket toward the annual pass?

(The word "current" is inexact.)

They will apply the price of a new 7-day ticket AT THE TIME YOU ARE UPGRADING.

So, whatever is the cost of a new 7-day ticket in Feb. 2017, that's the value they'd apply for your ticket in the upgrade transaction.

(This assumes no change in policy before you upgrade.)
