Upgrading ticket

Is it possible to upgrade our $99 2 park/7 day tickets to an AP? My DH is just concerned that he gets the full value ($99) off of the AP cost ($230.) Is there anything we need to know or do special? If we're using AP rate at hotel do we have to go to the park to upgrade it first before checking in or can they do it at the desk?

I told DH we should just keep the $99 pass since it's much less expensive than what we could buy it for now. Just save it for a couple of years. Do they expire if never used? (I understand they expire 7 days after first use.)

You could save the other pass. You are right that it doesn't expire until after the first use.
