Upgrading Seasonal Passes?????

Hi

I have seasonal passes that expire this October. I wanted to know how much it would cost to upgrade this to an annual pass instead of having to buy whole new annual passes for full price.
I tried calling 407-wdisney, but they told me I had to physically go to a theme park to resolve this issue
Anyway, one of the operators said something about discounting the what's left of my seasonal passes from the price of an annual pass.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank yoou!!!!!!!!!!!

In order to upgrade your seasonals, you would pay the difference between your seasonal pass, and the cost of an annual pass. The caveat is that your annual pass will be effective the same day as your seasonal was and will expire one year later. I.E., if you bought your seasonal on 1/1 of this year for $225, and you trade it in for an annual on 7/1 for $400 (estimates), you would pay $175.00, and the new annual would expire on 1/1.

335.48 - FL Res AP less 222.59 - FL Res Seasonal. So you're looking at about $113 to do it and as DisneyDar said, it will still expire on the same date in October as your current Seasonal Pass.

I am currently dealing with the same issue. I called and was told to go to the ticket window at the park (which is a 45 minute each way drive for me), and that they would scan my ticket and give me the price to upgrade dependent upon renewal date. This led me to believe it would not be the entire difference between the initial costs of the seasonal pass and the annual pass. I also double checked on the pass holder website where it states in the FAQ "Q. How much will it cost to upgrade my pass? A. Your upgrade cost depends on the anniversary date of your pass and the current date. Upgrade pricing will be calculated at a Walt Disney World theme park ticket window on the day you wish to upgrade." Well I made the trip over to inquire and after visiting the ticket windows and guest services at two parks I was given the same answer (one without even scanning my ticket) that Disney does not prorate the difference. This seems to contradict what I was told on the phone and the above info from the passholder website. Needless to say I was pretty upset and frustrated. I emailed Disney on Monday and am still waiting to hear back. When I get this resolved I will let you know how it comes out.

Disney doesn't prorate the difference on any of their year-long passes, FL resident or not. They stopped doing that about five years ago. In order to upgrade them, you will pay the full price difference between the two and your expiration date will remain the same as your old one.

The web site is worded the way it is to cover Disney in the event of a price increase between the time you read that and the time you do the upgrade. And we should all know by now that the people you speak to on the phone are not the same ones who actually do the upgrades. Some of the absolute worst misinformation I have ever seen given out to guests has been about tickets, mostly from the DRC CMs. It's deja vu all over again as Mr. Berra once said.

Actually we upgraded about three years ago, and Disney did prorate. We did not pay the full difference. Actually what did happen is that we weren't too far away from our renew date so we bought new annual passes and were credited the amount "left" for our seasonal passes (and believe me, it wasn't much. LOL).

I found out today after much aggravation that upgrading is not even necessary as Disney has dropped the blackout dates for season pass holders starting today and I believe this will be in effect until the end of the year but you might want to verify that.
