Yes, another upgrading/bridging thread...

I know that the actual rule is that tickets purchased directly from WDW do not get bridged under any circumstances. But does anyone have any real live positive reports of getting an exception to this rule after having used a ticket entitlement?

I purchased my 6 day tickets directly via the WDW website just before the last price increase. I now want to add park hoppers. If I hear back with any confirmed positive exceptions to the rule, then I'll wait until I arrive to try to get that exception as well. If not, I'll just call the ticket line and take care of it in advance rather than spend the extra time doing it while on vacation.

You can't upgrade the tickets in advance unless they are part of an upcoming room/ticket package.

Sure you can... I called the tickets line today to do just that, but stopped short of putting the transaction through once they quoted me a price including the price increase.

I must disagree with the "sure you can" response for tickets purchased as stand-alone, and not part of a WDW Resort package.

Except under unusual and special circumstances, stand-alone tickets cannot be upgraded until guests arrive, in-person, at a WDW ticket booth or Guest Relations.

As to whether tickets bought on-line from WDW will be price-bridged...
the "official rule" is no.

But, CMs sometimes have the option of adding a bit of "Pixie Dust" to guests' transactions.
Don't count on it, but it anything is possible.

I guess I just got a really flexible ticket agent on the phone. Perhaps I should have just done the upgrade then since she gave me the opportunity. She did scare me though by telling me that once she were to reissue new tickets, I would have to immediately add them to my account or else potentially lose my FPs! That might be reason enough to just wait until I get there.

She was wrong about the FP "going away" info.
Besides, you would not be getting "new" tickets.

Unless you were upgrading to an AP, you'd just be adding asset(s) to the tickets that you now have.

That's what I figured, but it was still pretty alarming. She made it sound like she'd be issuing a new ticket, which didn't sound right.
