First, a little background...(for anyone who hasn't seen any of my recent posts:) )
We took a trip in January 2008 (Me, DH, DD4 and DD2) with no intention of another trip until 2010. Then, DH decides to go on a big game hunt in October with his brother. Since I had to use vacation time to stay with the DD's, I decided I would VACATION with that time. So, now me and the DD's are going back to WDW.

UGHH! We didn't buy AP's in January!:headache:

So, (here's where the DVC part comes in to play)
DH is about to cave in and let me buy in at AKV. The guide we were referred to is out on the DCL until the end of June so I am hoping to call him this coming week. I have no idea how long DH is going to linger over the decision and I would like to get our tickets for our October trip before August 1. (I think the prices went up August 1 last year and I want to get them before that happens.)

IF I buy the 7-Day MYW with PH now (from UCT, if that matters) and then we buy into DVC before we go, can I use those 7-day passes towards the purchase of an AP (with the DVC discount), just in case the girls and I go again in 2009?:confused3 I am pretty certain this is possible, but how would I go about doing it?

I just did this in June - worked out great AND I got a little extra pixie dust.

I had an AP voucher purchased before we bought DVC, and MYW tix for the rest of my family. We went to MK Guest Relations and I told the CM I wanted to exchange my voucher for my AP and trade in my family's tix for APs as well, with the DVC discount. Not only did she do that with no problem at all - she gave me the discounted DVC price on my already purchased AP voucher - so I got $106 back. It cost us $155 to upgrade everyone's tickets to APs once the credit for their tix and my AP credit was applied. I didn't think that refund was the normal policy, but it was great for me!

As far as I know, you can only apply 1 ticket against 1 AP - so you can't combine multiple old tickets towards the price of the AP purchase.

Edited: Since you bought discounted tix from UCT - you need to use them for 1 day before trading them in for the APs to get the full value of the ticket (Disney value vs. discounted UCT value). I believe your AP will then be 1 day shorter than the norm, because you've already used one day, in effect. Sometimes that seems to depend on the CM doing the transaction.

Okay can you do this???? Our AP's expires on Aug. 15th and we are going to Disney on July 19th for 14 days......we were lucky in that we got/are getting 4 trips out of our DVC AP's. So...we still have MYP with 7 days on them..no exp. park hoppers. Can we trade those in for new AP's in Aug??? Does anyway know or do they have to be brand new MYP with no days use. Ours were originally 10 days tickets??? Thanks

I answered your question in your other post. Briefly, you cannot upgrade partially used tickets unless you do it within 14 days of the first use of the MYW ticket.

FWIW, vicki_c was lucky. No one else should count on getting a CM who will give refunds - she was right, it's not policy.
