Okay...I am offically confused! We are arriving 10/17 at POR thru 10/21. Than we will be staying offsite until 10/28. We are adding the DDP and need to buy tickets, we wanted to purchase 7 day MYW base tickets to last our entire stay. SO here comes the confusion...can we upgrade our MYW remaining days to an AP after we check out of POR???

We've called WDW, one CM said yes, and another said no. What do we do??? I need to know asap so that we can book! Please help!!!

I just did this with an unused ticket. I'm not sure about tickets with days still on them, but I would think that would be okay. I went to Guest Relations and took care of it. You just show them your ticket and tell them you want to trade it in for an annual pass.

ETA: If I were you, I would just go ahead and do the transfer before you use any days. You would save more money that way, I think. Anyone else agree?

Yes, you can upgrade.

If you do it within 14 days of the first use of the ticket, you will get a new AP that is backdated to the first day you used the MYW ticket, and you will be given credit for the full purchase price of the MYW ticket.

However, you can also trade in the MYW ticket as soon as you check in, so that you will have the full use of your AP (including merchandise discounts) from the first day.

Either way, you must perform the upgrade at a Guest Relations or Ticket Sales window at one of the theme parks. It can't be done at the resort.

I recommend that when you check in, you get your MYW pass coded onto a seperate card instead of on your room key. This will make it a lot easier for the Guest Relations CMs to perform the upgrade.

My understanding is that you need to upgrade before the tickets expire (14 days after first use) or all of the days on the ticket have been used (which ever comes first). The DDP is tied to the number of nights that you stay at the hotel not the days on the ticket. I can't actually think of any reason why you can't just check in then when you first go to one of the parks upgrade to an annual pass. The start date of the annual pass will be the same as the first use of the ticket so you don't loose or gain anything by waiting. oh and blondeheroine the price will be the same if they do it before or after the days are used.
