Okay, I've been looking at pictures of a Cat. 3 state room and dreaming of an inexpensive upgrade. . .

Has anyone ever upgraded during their land/sea, and, if so, when was your first opportunity to upgrade your stateroom?

Is it possible to pay for a ship upgrade from the cruise desk at your land resort?

We're in a Cat. 7 -- by Disney's web charts, a full upgrade to Cat. 4 is about $1,000 for the 3 of us. I don't see paying that much for maybe 10 square feet, and I like the furniture on the Navigator's verandah. However, if I could wrangle a ship-only upgrade to a Cat. 3 for somewhere around $800 or less, I'd jump on it in a heart beat.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Just returned- when we got to the ship @ 1:30 we went to the counter and he said to check in and then go down to the first two counters (on the left- farthest away) We originally paid for a category 11, we were automatically upgraded to 9, but for 298.00 we upgraded to a category 4. It was worth it !!! The room was on deck 7 and even though it was near the aft elevator you couldn't hear a thing and actually being so close to the elevator made everything that much more convenient. Our cruise was not crowded so I'm sure we were lucky to get the upgrade so late.:Pinkbounc

Hi there... are you sure it was a category 4? I thought they were all on Deck 8... I didn't see any 4's on the deck 7 plan.

Thanx

Room 7606 it was great !! nice size verandah not too far from the laundry and the bathroom was two seperate rooms two sinks

How was the Royal Pacific ? We have stayed at Portofino and Hard Rock, I prefer the Hard Rock Club level but the kids suite at the Portofino is great ! I'm also partial to the Polynesian concierge but I have stayed at the two bedroom vila at the Wilderness lodge which was awesome, I just missed the monorail.
