I am hoping someone can talk me thru this. DH and I purchased a package thru Walt Disney Travel that included 4 day park hopper passes. We now decided to return to DL in August of this year and we are bringing our extended family along.

We think it is best to upgrade our 4 day hoppers to AP. Exactly how do we do this? Do we need to use the hoppers on our first day at the park and upgrade them inside the park? Or can we go to the ticket turnstiles and do this without entering the park.

We will not be visiting the parks on our first day [our travel day] but hope to visit DownTown Disney that evening for dinner and would like to take advantage of the AP discount.

Thanks for the help!

Where in DTD do you plan to eat? Check to see if they have AAA discount instead as most have both (and regardless of what type of AP you have, it's the same 10% discount).

That way, you don't "waste" a day of your AP.

Thank you for the reply. We are planning to eat at the Jazz Kitchen. We are AAA members but I was not aware they gave a AAA discount at that resturant.

You can call to find out. I know there's a few places that give AAA and not AP discounts in DTD. It's been so long since I've eaten at Jazz Kitchen I forgot which one they do.

I know that Jazz Kitchen gives a 10% AP discount. I have not heard if they give a AAA discount.

They have removed the AP processing centers from inside the parks. If you want to upgrade hopper passes, then you need to do so at the ticket booths. Are you staying onsite? If you are not staying onsite, then your only access to Magic Morning is the one you will get with your hopper passes. If you upgrade those without using the MM, then you will lose that opportunity. If you are staying onsite, you will have access to MM each morning it is offered, so you don't need to worry about getting one with your tickets.

Thank you for the responses. I guess my question is do I have to enter the parks to upgrade the hoppers or are the ticket booths located outside the turnstiles. So we could get the upgraded APs without actually using a days admission.

We are staying off site {at the B.W. Park Place Inn} and we do have one MM entrance, so if we would upgrade our hoppers without using that feature, we would lose our MM.

Sounds to me like it is to our advantage to wait and upgrade AFTER our MM and not to use the AP food discount on our first evening at DTD. I would rather enjoy the Early Entry than to save a few bucks.

Thanks for making me understand. Nothing is easy-peasy for me!!!:confused3
