Upgrading Existing Tickets to AP Question.

HI,
I would like to upgrade my 4 Day Disney Select Pass (With 2 days remaining) to a Florida Resident Platinum Annual Pass. Will My Annual Pass Start Date be the day that I upgrade (Hopefully 4/18) or the day that I first used the the 4 day select pass back in December?
I called the Disney ticket line and they told me it would start on 4/18 but that sounds too good to be true so I wanted to double check with the real experts.

The people on the phone were, as they generally are, incorrect.

If the cast member doing the upgrade does their job correctly, your expiration date will be 1 year from the first use of the original ticket.

Thank You! Her answer didn't make fiscal sense for the Disney company which is why I questioned its accuracy.
