upgrading DL tickets to park hopper 3-day, from 2 day single park

This is so easy to do for WDW, but I can't find a way to do it for our families first trip to DL.

We currently have 2-day single park tickets, I want to upgrade to 3 day park hoppers. This is for a July trip so there is plenty of availability. I can't figure out how to do it.

Any tips?

The advice I've heard around here is that it is easier to cancel the existing tickets and buy new tickets than to try to upgrade anything. Hopefully it'll work out for you!

The short and unfortunate answer is you can't find a way to do it because there isn't one. Basically these tickets can only be upgraded in person at the ticket booths at DLR and when you do that you will lose any reservations connected to your current tickets.

Some here have been able to get Disney to let them purchase new tickets over the phone and then cancel and request a refund on the old tickets but YMMV on that and it sounds like sometimes the refund can take a while.

Wow. This is so misleading since the DL website actually says it is possible. So I thought I was doing something wrong! I will be calling to complain. But this is what the website says, so I was very confused why I couldn't do it on the app:

Eligible Disneyland Resort theme park tickets may be upgraded by following these simple steps via the Disneyland app:

• Visit the Tickets and Passes screen
• One-day tickets – link your ticket to your Disney account and upgrade by midnight on the day of your visit to the Disneyland Resort.
• Multi-day tickets – upgrade on or before the last valid day of your ticket.

Important Information:

• A used ticket must be upgraded on or before the last valid day of use of the ticket.

I think those instructions are to upgrade tickets to Magic Keys.

These are the instructions to upgrade tickets to a Magic Key. As others have said, there is no way to upgrade tickets to park hoppers or add extra days to existing tickets. It’s very unfortunate.

very frustrating. But one more question. When it is stated that this needs to be done at the ticket booths, I know they are referring to DL, but is there any chance the ticket booths or GS at WDW would be able to upgrade this for us? We will be there a month before.

As far as I know, the systems used between DLR and WDW are completely different.
