I get a really good deal through my employer for Hopper passes, so before the 2005 price jump I purchased some (3 adult & 1 child)... We ended up not going in 2005 & have pushed our trip back to this June...

My 9yo DS is now 10 & can we upgrade the child hopper to an adult w/ no cost IF it's never been used??

Thanks!
Christine

I just found this on WDWIG.com...

"A note on this: if your child is now 11 or 12 years old, you can continue to use the old child's ticket as is and have no problem at the gate. The only time that you may run into a problem is when you have an older teen trying to use it. That is when you should exchange the child's ticket. Don't bother going to Guest Relations for an 11 or 12 year old, just use it as is."

Does anyone have any experience with this? I can't imagine a 10 yr old getting 'stopped' at the gate for using a 3-9 yr old ticket but knowing my luck!!!! ;)

I think it has to have been used when the child was the child's age, if it has never been used then I think you have to change it. I would probably ask disney.

I asked the same question once since my daughter's teacher was going and her child had "out grown" her tickets. You can exchange them at guest services but you have to pay the difference between what the child ticket is worth and what the adult ticket is worth. Which was based on the value at the time of the the exchange, not the value you paid.

If you notice the difference isn't very much so you might want to just get it over with.

I might also try and just use the ticket and see if anyone corrects me, then if they do, exchange it without making a fuss.

Have a good trip.

A partly used child ticket will be exchanged at no cost for an adult ticket.

A totally unused child ticket will not be so exchanged but can be given to a different child.

A 10yo should not begin using a child ticket because, if a question is raised later, the previous usage of the ticket will not make sense with the child's age.
