I searched for the answer to this but the search function seems to be acting up, so i apologize if this has been asked in the past.

We have purchased 5 day hoppers for our Christmas trip. I would like to upgrade them to a Deluxe AP at the end of our last day, because the days we are visiting are blacked out for that type of AP.

First question-How late in the day can we do this?

2nd Question-Where do we upgrade?

3rd Question-Can we still use the monthly payment plan for California residents?

4th Question- Do we have to have everyone with us who we are upgrading to AP's for? Such as our kids? Or can we send them back to the hotel with the grandparents who are not getting AP's?

Thanks! :goodvibes

1. I believe before the end of your last day, but I'm not sure the office is open until park close.

2. The post office inside DL

3. Not sure but I would think so.

4. Yes you'll want everyone there to take pics for your APs

1. Before the latest-open park closes on your last day of ticket use.
2. Ticket booth. There is no longer an AP processing center.
3. Yes. Your ticket value can be applied toward the AP price and the balance due can be divided into a monthly payment plan. I believe the first month will then be charged immediately.
4. Yes, your whole party must be present when upgrading tickets to APs.

Thank you both for your help :goodvibes

one more question :scratchin

Once we upgrade, we will not be allowed back into the parks because we would now have an AP that does not allow entry on that day? :sad2: It's totally worth it to have an AP for the rest of the year for less than the cost of another trips tickets but we would have to cut our last day short?

On the day you upgrade you are allowed entry to the parks, even if it is a blocked day for you. So have fun! :goodvibes

The only downside to your plan is that you will lose out on all the discounts you get from having an AP. I would run the numbers on that and see if there is a benefit to upgrading one person early to use the discounts and having that person buy a blockout ticket on the upgrade day. It really depends on if you are planning on eating a lot in the parks or buying a lot of merchandise, etc.

ETA: having an AP may also get you a discount for on-site hotels, so you may want to consider that as well...

The day you upgrade to an AP you can use your AP for entry even if it is a blocked out day.

OP will be there at Christmas time when deluxe passes are blocked out and wants to upgrade to deluxe. At the cost of a premium pass, it takes a lot of spending to make up the price difference in discounts.

You will want to upgrade on the morning of your last day.

But, Dreams, that's a blockout day for our AP so that won't work.

You can enter can upgrade on a blockout day and use your new AP on that day. When you upgrade, you will need to tell them that you want to continue to play in both Parks for the remainder of the day. They will issue you a ticket that allows you to do so.

But, Dreams, what's the advantage to doing that when we can just do it at the end of the day?
Ah, excellent question! Save your big purchases until the last day when you have an AP that has a discount on merchandise. Then, use it when you do all of your shopping on the last day. :goodvibes

Enjoy,
Dreams

This is great news! It will be much easier to upgrade at the start of our last day!!:cool1:
