Upgrading after free dining promo ends?

If we book the free quick service dining promo and decide to upgrade the dining plan closer to the trip (January) would that be allowed? Or would we lose the "free dining" because the promo ends in October?

you can upgrade dining from one level of the plan to another... but it may take guest services assistance...
i know this because today i wanted to make my final payment for nov trip and upgrade from DDP to DxDDP and because the dates of the promo changed (and thereby the codes changed from when i originally booked) the cm on the phone was unable to make the change and had to get guest services on the line to do it because the DxDDP code was no longer available to the original cm... but they did do it and it was not a hassle and did not seem like anything out of the ordinary...

Do you think we could add a third person in our room and keep the free dining? What about if we leave a day early? Totally forgot to make these changes and now its closed and I'm freaking out.

are you w/in your 45 days? if so, there may be an additional charge to add a person/change your dates... if not, you should be able to make both these changes with no problem...

They made the changes. No problem.

Generally they are quite happy to take MORE money, but far less likely to give it back ;~} Not a bad thing, just good to know.

As a general rule of thumb, Disney is NEVER going to turn down your money - for example when upgrading a dining plan or adding a person to a reservation, that would be bad business and they are in the business of making money.
