Upgrading a PH to AP

I am planning to purchase a 7 day PH with water parks and more through my daughter's work. The price buying them through her work was cheaper than through WDW. There is a chance I may make a second trip next year and would purchase a 3 day PH without water parks and more for that trip. May I upgrade the 7 day PH with Water Parks and more to a DVC discounted AP when I arrive in September?
I want to be able to make my FP+ selections with the rest of my group for our September trip and the trip next year is not 100% sure. If I can do this it would be awesome. I will know about the possible trip next year for sure by September when we arrive. Trying to avoid buying the AP until I am positive about the possible trip next year.
I am not sure if I can do this, especially since we are buying our PH tickets through her work.
And if I can do this, would my FP+ selections be automatically transferred to the AP?
Thanks for any help and advice!

If you use the water parks on the tickets, you can only upgrade to the Premium AP, not the regular AP.

You'd have to use the ticket once, otherwise you get the price adjustment based on what the vendor paid for the ticket.

1. Go into MK.
2. exit, or go to GR within park.
3. Ask to (price) bridge the ticket to AP. This means the value of your used ticket would be brought up to the gate price. You'd pay the difference between the gate price and AP.
