Upgrading 5 day ticket to Annual Pass

I have a 5 day pass that I purchased from Undercover Tourist that is linked to my MDE account. I want to upgrade my ticket to an AP because I am going back in September with friends for a long weekend. What I want to know is when should I do this? I could use the free parking with AP because we are staying off site. If I don't upgrade until I go through the turnstyles, is there still a way to get free parking for that day? (We plan to go to EPCOT that first day.)

Also, if we take Memory Maker type pictures BEFORE I upgrade to the AP, will we still be able to see those or will the Memory Maker pictures not be included until after I upgrade? We will have magic bands from a one night stay before we move offsite.

You can do it anytime during your 5 days. They will make the AP retroactive to the first day of use of your 5 day ticket. They will also refund you parking if you've already paid. We did this exact thing last summer. It's easy.

Yes, your Memory Maker will work exactly the same.

A ticketing CM here now says it's not necessary to use a ticket to get the correct bridged upgrade price. You could upgrade at a water park or Disney Springs where there is free parking (but the AP year will start on the day you upgrade or use your MYW ticket)

I've heard that Guest Relations will reimburse you for that days parking if you bring the parking receipt while upgrading to an AP.

The AP will unlock your earlier in the trip Photopass photos.

I have a question as well. If I have a package booked with free dining, can I upgrade our four day hopper tickets to an AP? Does the upgrade have to be done before our last day is used?

To avoid adding another thread. I am going in August with a package, 6day Park Hopper. I am also going in October for a conference and my company purchased a 3day convention ticket. Would I be able to combine both of these tickets towards an AP?

No. For one, tickets can't be combined. Also, you'd need to do the upgrade on the 6-day ticket within 14 days of first use.

If I go on June 26, 2016 into the park, and then I upgrade to an Annual Pass that night, will the cost of that day's ticket come off the AP? Or will they say that day is used and only subtract 5 days of tickets off of the AP cost?

The full current gate value of the original ticket is applied towards the exchange. The expiration date of the annual pass is based on the day the ticket was first used, so, in your case, the 26th.
