Hi,

I am looking to upgrade to First Class on AA109 from LHR-BOS.
I am looking on their website but can't see anything at all so wondering if anyone would have any idea how much it would cost to upgrade.

Thanks,

Jack

isn't it a function of many things?
the cost of a flight isn't set in stone....it depends on the day, time of day, how many people have booked, etc etc..

so how much it will cost to upgrade is similarly variable...

i would think that to find out something like that you need to either contact the airline, or your travel agent, if you booked through one.

As the above poster said, there isn't usually a set rate. You'll need to call AA and ask if it is possible to upgrade your ticket. Note that you may be required to have a full fare economy ticket, so if you've purchased a special or discounted fare it may not be eligible for upgrade. In terms of upgrade price, I would guess you are looking at at least £500pp, if not significantly more.

Last time we flew AA from Manchester to Chicago (then onto Vegas) they had a notice at checkin, "upgrades available for £100pp" that was just the MAN~Chicago leg. We didn't pay it, when we got onboard it was more like PE than Biz class, will depend on plane but not like we got on Delta last year.

Hmm, doesn't sound like AA First Class, Wayne. The new First cabin has "flagship suites" with fully-flat six-foot seats. It's very nice!

EDITED - just had a look and it appears that the planes operating the LHR-BOS AA109 route do not offer First Class (just coach and business).

AA are rolling out a new 'flagship experience' in first and business, with stunning new cabins. I think that will mark the end of any 100GBP upgrade opportunities.

Another one upgrading/refurbing. See post # 26 on my thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2384563&page=2 I am happy with the old seats but will be nice if they have new ones installed by August.
:thumbsup2 Nice find on the flights, looks like you got a good price. With the crazy prices of Economy in the holidays it makes sense to pay the (little) extra to enjoy the premium flying experience. :goodvibes

Works out about £235pp each way extra over cheapest economy available. If we get the same service as last year worth every penny:thumbsup2
