upgrades at check-in

Has anyone been able to upgrade at check in? I'll be happy with my Cat 9 room, but I'm curious nonetheless. If so, was the room any less expensive than if you had booked it in advance?

The one time that I upgraded. I checked the internet pricing a few days before sail date. the price difference that dy between a Cat 9 and a Cat 7 on that day was the price that we were charge upon check-in to do the same upgrade.
