Upgraded to Hospitality Suite

I am so psyched. I called weekly for 4 months trying to get upgraded (platinum) to a Portofino Suite. I was finally told since the conventions are taking all those suites they would upgrade me to a Villa Suite. I called tonight with a question and was told I was upgraded to a Hospitality Suite. Wish I knew how to play the piano. Since I have never had a suite at PBR I am ectastic with any of them.

Could anyone tell me the difference? It looks as if the bedroom is actually smaller in the Hospitality Suite. What are the bathrooms in the Hospitality Suite like? I'll be too spoiled after this.

There are four of us, which includes two 16 year old girls. Is an additional $75 worth it for club level? It will be great having a kitchette.

Any info, advice, pics, would be greatly appreciated.

January can't get here soon enough. Wish I was staying longer.

Wow! Congratulations! I don't have the answer to your questions but wanted to reply so that possibly others that knew the answer can see this.

I had a hospitality suite that was huge (60'x 36'). Mine had no piano. The bedroom was not a deluxe so the bathroom did not have a separate shower or the window into the bedroom above the tub. The parlor bathroom has a shower that is larger than the villa suite's. The parlor was filled with couches enough to seat 20. The kitchenette is in a larger room and has a buffet table against one wall with the mini-fridge, sink, ice maker (big) and microwave against the other wall. The kitchenette in a villa suite is narrow without the buffet table. Both have a large dining tables.
The hospitality suite seemed to have less hallway foot traffic. The view was of the villa pool in the background and the elevated lawn in the foreground. The hospitality wing is around a courtyard next to the check in desk convenient to the elevators with access to the convention rooms.
I've stayed in 3 different villa suites in the west wing and all had a view of the bay. Two were on the top floor and had balconies off of the parlor, dining and bedrooms. Because of the view and the romantic balconies I'd have to say I preferred the villa suite.
The portofino suite is smaller without the dining table.
I'd wait until you check in to see about the club access. Last time I was offered the club for $60. Bringing club offerings back to either the villa or hospitality suite is nice because of the dining room table but the walk to the club can be pretty far. I think I'd stop at a grocery store and stock up prior to arrival. You'll have ample storage along with refridgeration.

Thanks

I was looking forward to the balconies. And that large bathroom. But since we are being upgraded from a garden view, I can hardly complain.

We always rent a car and make a grocery run so the kitchenette and ice maker will come in handy. Motherfletcher, I think I'll take your advise on the club upgrade. It would probably come in handy with the kids but may not be worth it. Also sometimes I've read they comp the club access if your room is not ready or some problem arises. How far is the club from the Hospitality suites?

Do all the Hospitality Suites have a villa pool view? I thought they said it had a bay view, but I could have still been in shock at that point. Do any have balconies or are they all on the ground floor?

Does anyone know what the local LF Welcome Amenity is for PBR? Do they still do something for the teens?

Does that seating for 20 include one pullout? The girls would love their own bed if possible, if not that's ok too. They can always alternate sleeping on a couch if there are multiple couches.

Thanks for any and all help.

I have only stayed in one hospitality suite. I think CalgaryGary stayed in one and posted in the room assignment thread. As did RyGuy. The hospitality wing is not located on the bay so I'd guess that no hospitality suites have a bay view. I think Gary said the view was the courtyard.
I didn't check the couches for pullouts as I was staying in this huge suite all by myself. There were 3 full size couches in the parlor in the shape of an L that would sleep 3. The bedroom had 2 queens and a pullout (I think) couch.
The club lounge was probably 300' or more from the hospitality suite and maybe a little farther to the villa suites with the balconies. As far as I know the hospitality suites do not have balconies and they are on the top floor.
The PBH local amenity is fruit and an Italian CD. Nothing for teens lately.
The villa suites have 2 adjoining bedrooms. damo was upgraded to get both bedrooms. One is a king and the other is 2 queens.
Check your PM's.

When we were upgraded to Villa we had two bedrooms, one with King and one with Queen. We had three bathrooms, two were full and one had a shower. There was also a huge pullout sofa. There were also Three balconies, one of which was covered and we overlooked the bay. We were also upgraded to club.

Ya, I know. It was a sweet vacation. Sometimes you get really lucky at Universal. It sure spoiled us!

Thanks for all that info. I can only hope to get as lucky as Damo or Motherfletcher have been.

Another perk is my 16 year old daughter and her friend think I am amazing. That may only last a day or two but I'll take what I can get!

The closest Villa Suite to the club that we have been upgraded to was just around the corner from the club. Forgot the room numbers (I will look them up), but it was the first set of room doors to the left if you exited out the Exit only door (just past the big public balcony and the elevator).

It didn't have any balconies like the West Wing Villas we have had, but the room actually seemed a bit bigger without the balconies. But it had a great view of theTrattoria patio, the rest of the piazza and the bay. Since you were at a 90 degree angle from the club, the windows in the bedroom actually looked into the windows of the club.

Just like the others, it has 2 bedrooms attached to it. The queen bedroom is a handicapped room so it does not have the separate shower - just a large tub with handles.

King bedroom had a twin pullout and the parlor couch was a queen pullout. The 2 queen bedroom just had a chair and no couches that pulled out.

We were upgraded to a hospitality suite (inc. piano) back in July. I posted a few pics of the suite on the PBH room assignment thread and you can view them here. We had the two queen bedroom but not the king bedroom at the other side of the suite.

I know what you mean. We brought along my daughter's boyfriend when we went. He had never even been to Orlando before. He just couldn't believe what we had scored and I don't think any vacation ever again will match that one in his eyes. We stayed in that Villa Suite for 6 nights with club access. It was pretty incredible. We also only paid $249/night for the whole thing. Add on the $89/week tickets and it was one very cheap but very luxurious vacation.

I've also been trying for a few months to get my Portofino Suite upgrade - still not available. Did you say or do something to get them to offer you the Villa/Hospitality Suite? I mentioned the Villa Suite once, but they said no - only Portofino Suite for the platinum upgrade. Also - when are you going? My dates are 4/18 - 4/21. I'm just wondering if I'm being affected by the same conventions as you are.

We will be at PBR January 2-7. I never asked for anything other than an upgrade. Originally they could only give me the first 3 nights citing the conventions as the reason. I did literally call at least every week since probably August. I had some nice reservationists and some not so nice along the way.

Then when I called one day, I was transferred to the Preferred Reservation Desk (I think it was called). She came back and told me she tried for the Hospitality but couldn't get it due to the conventions but that she was able to get the Villa Suite. So a few days later I called to ask a question and was told I was upgraded to the Hospitality Suite.

Maybe I just happened upon some really nice people.
