Upgradeable magic bands linked?

Just wondering if the upgradeable magic bands are already linked like the basic color ones are when we get them or do you have to go in and link them like the ones you purchase at the store?

Yes, if they show up in your MDE, then they are linked.

I just checked MDE, and the upgraded bands I received for my December trip are showing as active.
