Version 6 is finding far more components for me than the previous version I installed.

The difference is dramatic: The older version found 4-6 a day, the upgrade found over 70 objects today and placed them on quarantine!

I tried installing the ADAware but can't get it to work, it says it can't detect something. I have Norton anti-virus on my new computer and some sites it says it won't allow cookies on, does this still mean I need Ad Aware?

What browser are you using? Although Norton is not my favorite anti-virus program (it is more conflictive than any other) It may be the settings in your browser. I used to have Norton and installed the first version of Ad Aware then. I could run it without problems.

Check your browser's security settings.

If your provider is Earthlink or you have pop-ups canceled, you may have to deactivate that before installing...

I disagree about Nortons I have Norton's Internet security and have never had a problem with it, just make sure it is turned off befor installing anything(but that goes for any virus program)

I think Mcafee's is the most conflictive I can not run it at all.



Hope you get it worked out.

I had another trojan horse attack the other night and Norton's caught it.They tired 3x to hack into my computer.

I am running 6 now, hopefully it will get rid of that darn search page that comes up when my browser doens't find a url, that one bugs the heck out of me!

I had Norton for several years before I got McAfee.. Nothing makes me go back to Norton. I just received a notification this morning that there was an attempt to intercept my port when I was on Blink...I have McAfee's parental controls, firewall and antivirus softwares.

But please everyone, don't feel too safe running adaware once a day... I've taken to doing it now after each rewards program AND before shutting the puter off for the night.. At least twice a day.

Probably a dumb question, but if I download the new 6.0 version, does it automatically replace the older version, or do I have to delete that myself?

I had to remove the older version when I installed v.6
