Upgrade to Club Level

I am guessing the answer to this is "no", but figured I'd ask.

We have rented DVC points at AKL in August. We got a Savannah view studio. I was told there was no availability for club level in the DVC rooms.

Disney does have club level studios available on its website. I realize this is a different "set" of rooms.

Is there any chance we could get upgraded to club level if there is availability in the Disney set of rooms when we check in? We would obviously be willing to pay the difference between non-club and club? Or are we completely out of luck

No. Don't even ask about upgrades when you're renting points. If they do "upgrade" you, the owner will end up paying for it, and then come after you for the charges or lost points.

There are five (5) club-level DVC rooms. Even most owners can't get those rooms.

If you really want Club level, plan a future trip around its availability. We've been really lucky to do it twice, but both times we only stayed there for a few nights. There would have been no way to get it for for more than 4 nights. I think both times we stayed either 3-4 nights. I wouldn't want to spend that many points either. It's a great experience & from what I've heard from the CL regulars I've met, AKL CL is #1 or #2 on their list w/ GF being their other choice.

It's a spectacular way to end a trip, but make sure you are lounging at the resort all day w/ very minimal hours in the parks to get the full value.
