When we stayed at HRH 2 summer ago, I asked at check in if we could upgrade to club level...they said there was no availability..so off we went to the parks w/ a phone # to call to see if our standard room was ready (entertainment rate $140).....When our room was ready we went back and stood in check in line again...I asked the desk clerk (different one) if we could upgrade, he said yes...it would cost us an additional $50/night....We did it and thought it was worth the extra $50 (2 adults/2 children). The convenience of breakfast and the late night snacks and drinks were well worth the price.

So here's my questions....

Anyone do this recently....were you successful? How much extra did they charge you?

We're at RPR this summer...we have the entertainment rate again ($168), they weren't even offering club rooms at the entertainment rate...I think the rack rate was something like $359/night...No way I'm paying that....

I was at HRH earlier this month and I was offered an upgrade to a kid's suite or king suite for $35. When I asked about club level they said I would need to bring my rate up to $200 which would have been a $60 upgrade fee per night. That is usually how they do it. Depending on the hotel they set a certain price and you have to pay the difference between that and your rate.

I'll ask again at check in...you never know...if it's in the $50-$60 range, we'll probably go for it.....If it's more, we'll skip it this time...
