We are going to DLR in March for 5 days and will have 5 day parkhoppers. We want to upgrade on our last day to Deluxe AP's.

Can I take the value of my 5 parkhoppers and use them all to upgrade to 4 AP's? We aren't buying an AP for our 15 yr. old since he will most likely not be able to go with us during our next trip in Nov. 2012 because of school.

I am not trying to circumvent the system and am perfectly willing to pay for all the AP's - but wondered if anyone has done the upgrade this way.

Unfortunately no, sorry! :(. Also is there a reason you're waiting to upgrade on your last day? You should use your Magic Morning, then upgrade to get the discounts in the park.

Thanks SonnyJane!

The only reason I would have waited was because our DS 15 is joining us later and if I could have also used his ticket to upgrade I wouldn't have wanted to make his ticket invalid.

We'll just upgrade after our MM and enjoy our discounts!

I think that you should really check with guest relations when you get there.
I just got back from Disney World. My husband was not able to go and I wanted to take both of our 6 day tickets and trade them in towards 1 annual pass, the annual pass good for both Disney World and Disneyland. I was told on Dis Boards that I could not do this, however when I got there I was able to do this. So it's worth checking when you get there. Good Luck

You got lucky, AND, most importantly, your tickets were unused. Combining used tickets will almost certainly not be allowed. Think of the potential losses if Disneyland allowed that. People could buy or be given multiple tickets with unused days (both prohibited) and combine them all to get an AP for next to nothing.

I thought I had read that you can't combine tickets to apply to an AP... However, the first Premier AP we purchased in 2010 the guest services CM took our 8 day PHs and 2 day PHs and combined them to apply towards the cost of our Premier APs at WDW. Not the 8 day PHs were used and the 2 day PHs were not. Not sure if this is the same issue or not.....:) If so, it appears that it can be done.

The CM made a mistake. You can not do that in WDW either. You should feel lucky that the error benefited you.

Brady's Mom, obviously you have your answer!

But as far as UNUSED passes, I have read stories (and not just in this thread) of people putting those unused passes, with one pass they DID use, toward the purchase of an AP. I've never done it so I can't say if it's always allowed, but there are quite a few stories of Disney using unused admission media like "cash" (in the value of what you paid for it) as long as you are using it toward getting more admission media for yourself.

I had 10 tickets (unused) that I once wanted to apply toward the price of 4 Annual passports (premium) - although this was in 2003/2004 when they only had 3 different types of APs. The cast member would not allow us to do it. They were discounted tickets because of a firm party at DLR (worth $35) so the value was $350 and the APs that we were buying was about $1000 (yup, back then premium APs were about $250).

Anyhow, couldn't do it. The CM would only let us use 4 of the tickets. The rest were sold for the discounted face value (this was back when DLR also didn't have park hoppers) so one couple bought 4 so they could hop between DL and DCA and the money was applied to the APs.

Thanks everyone! I pretty much figured I couldn't combine tickets - but if you don't ask, you'll never know.
