Upgrade to AP...can I do this?

Hi! We are going down June 19 for a short trip and I am going to upgrade my 2 day tix to an AP. We are also trying to book and plan a few quick trips through the rest of the year and some may need booking before I leave in June on my trip. Can I call and go ahead and pay and upgrade my tix to an AP? If I do that, when does it activate? And when can I access the AP website to make ressies for rooms? Thanks!

Upgrades have to be done in person. You cannot do them over the phone.

You can access the AP website after you have activated your AP. Having just a voucher did not work for me last fall. It had to be an actual AP attached to my name in MDE.

You will have to upgrade the AP in person.

You won't be able to make an AP reservation over the website; however, I was able to make one over the phone with a travel agent. The rule is that you need to have an AP at the time of check-in, not necessarily at the time of booking. So just go to Downtown Disney and upgrade to the AP before checking into your resort.

Ok! Good to know! So, I guess if I can find out when the AP rates for the trip come out, I can at least call and book it based on the fact that I will have it at travel time. Right?

When you check in at your resort they will ask you for your AP - however you do have 24 hours to produce it. So if you don't have it when you first get there you do have a day to get the upgrade done.

You may want to see if you can call and add days to your tickets (not sure if you can) so you can book more than 2 days worth of FP+ for your trip. Then you can upgrade to an AP when you arrive.

Unfortunately, you have to do all ticket upgrades in person even if it's adding days to a MYW. The only exception would be if you bought the 2 day tickets as part of your upcoming reservation in a package, in which case you don't even have or paid for those tickets yet. But if the ticket is active (used before) then you have to do an in person upgrade.
