Hi,

I've booked a LM room (package w/meals) for my son and I for August 2014. He's not excited about the LM, but loves the Lion King. My mother and nephew are considering joining us, but probably won't decide until early 2014. How hard to you think it would be at that point to transfer my reservation to an LK suite and add two people?

Thanks,

Heather

I think you'll be fine, that's still a lot of time before you'd be going. I'd hang on to that LM reservation until you know for sure!!! ;)

I know how it is to try to convince boys to stay in the LM rooms. I have 2 boys who will be 13 and 8 when we stay there in November 2014, and we ended up booking a Cars suite. LM would've been $1200 cheaper!!! I wish they would've made at least one of the LM buildings a boys theme. It's hard to sell 2 boys on LM......even though she's only on the shower curtain!!!

I know, I felt badly about sticking him in a Little Mermaid room. I'd really enjoy having my Mom and nephew come along, but I admit, a big part of my wanting them to come is that it will be a much more "magical" experience for Lucas to stay in a Lion King room.

I wonder if they themed the smaller rooms after one of the least popular movies in the hopes that families would do exactly what you did?

I don't think I'd classify LM as one of the least popular movies... but rather, that she and her story are already all over the place and have substantial presences in the parks as well.

As for your particular situation, I would expect you to have no problem at all switching "up" to a suite from a LM - the LM rooms are the smallest portion of the resort (most of it is the suites) and they sell out quick, but I've never had problem finding availability in suites. Nemo ones do seem to go a bit faster than the others, but since you want Lion King I think you'll be fine.

Yeah, I guess I just perceive it that way because I only have a boy.

I'm glad to hear that LK suites don't tend to sell out. I chatted with someone on the disney web site and they said LK suites are still available for this August, so I should have no trouble getting one 6 mos before our trip.

Thanks!

This past Christmas we stayed at both, a LM std room and a LK suite. I have to say the LM theming was nice but it was far away from the busses and the food court. We loved the LK room. We were 4 adults and 1 child and were far more comfortable in the LK suite then in 2 LM std rooms. If you can swing it I would do it. If not I would look at ASMo resort in the Toy Story section.
