Upgrade tickets?

I know this is how Disney works w/ their ticket upgrade so I was wondering if it works at Universal?
I bought two $99 tickets for 7 days unlimited from Undercover Tourist. After the ticket is activated can they be upgraded to a season pass (currently 229) and the value of 7 day ticket now (169) be used as the value difference making me only pay $60 dollars to upgrade to a season pass??? Thanks for any advice. I am thinking that after we go to Harry Potter we will want to go back for another round later in the year!

I don't believe so. I think you will have to pay the difference between the $99 ticket and the annual pass price.

The $99 ticket is not the same as the $169 ticket as the latter gives you 14 days to use your 7 admission days.

It will only give you value for 99 not for 169.

I bought a 7 day ticket from Mapleleaf tickets in Feb for $130. How do I know if it is the new one or the old one? It has a place for your name and signature which I don't remember our old 7 day tickets from 2008 having.

Oops--I just noticed that it says expires 6 days after first use. Is that the old $99 ticket?

I emailed a picture of the ticket to Guest Services last week and haven't gotten an answer yet . . . .

Yes. That is the old ticket. The new one is valid for 14 days.

Sorry to hijack...

If I have the $99 7 day passes...I can upgrade to the Annual Pass...can I do this over the phone?

I am asking because I am considering the purchase of an annual pass given the annual pass discounts for my trip in July. I figure I need to upgrade before they will give me the new rate.

You can call them and ask but you might as well wait until you arrive since you would have to go to Guest Services anyway to get the actual AP. You would pay the difference between the $99.00 tickets and the cost of the AP.

I believe so or you can change it when you get the AP. I'm not an expert on the hotels so someone will come along and correct me if I'm wrong.

You sure can. You just need to show it to them before you check out.
