We just booked 6 nights/7 days at Loews Royal Pacific and the package includes 3-Park Unlimited tickets (14 days of consecutive use).

Is it possible to upgrade these tickets to AP's? Any idea of the cost?

No. The three park tickets can't be upgraded. You're better off to get 3 or 4 day tickets and upgrade them.

Thanks for the info - I called this morning to see what they could do; he was able to easily upgrade the tickets to preferred annual passes and I simply paid the difference.

To clarify, we had booked a package for Royal Pacific that included the 3-Park Unlimited tickets for 2 adults/1 child.

The value assigned to the 3-Park Unlimited tickets was $625, and I was charged the difference between $625 and $942 for the AP's ($317).

He resent the E-Travel email and I've confirmed it now has the tickets listed as 2-Park Preferred Annual Pass.

In case it makes any difference, we paid in full online and called within 24 hours to make this change.

If you take the 3 park ticket to the parks, they won't upgrade it. They were probably able to just cancel your order. The reason they won't upgrade it at the park is because it is revenue sharing between the different parks.

Damo is right. They probably cancelled the order and did a new order. 3 park tickets can't be upgraded because of the shared revenue between Universal and Wet N Wild.

Perhaps they did. Everything was already paid for, they just charged me the additional difference, our confirmation number is the same and the email that we got said our package had been "modified" to now include AP's in place of the previous tickets, but maybe technically they had to cancel the first order to upgrade the tickets for us.

I'm just glad it could happen. :)

Shared revenue? Don't they own it? They're sharing with themselves? You can upgrade a ticket with WPF&M at Disney. Why would it be hard at Universal? It's a big company. I'm sure they've thought of this scenario and can handle it.

not all companies are run the same way.
uo leases the land out for w/w, it's only a shared revenue for them.

I'm pretty sure at Disney if you've used any of the Water Park and More option you need to buy the Premium Annual Pass. And, at Disney they have the ability quickly to check and see what you've used. At Universal, since the purchase of W&W was so recent, their ticketing systems aren't combined. So, without calling W&W there would be no way to know if you've been in that park. And, if you have been in W&W do you require them to purchase both a Universal Pass and a W&W pass (the equivalent of a Disney Premium pass). There is no one pass that includes both. Or do you do like Disneyland does with the CityPass and allocate a portion of the price to Universal and a portion to W&W for upgrade purposes but, with the Citypass, you get several tickets so if you upgrade Disneyland you still have the other tickets.

Technically Universal purchased 50 acres of land around W&W land in July 2013. But prior to that they leased the land and shared revenue like you said. They still seem to be run like 2 separate companies and with the new waterpark rumored to being built behind Cabana Bay I figure they'll continue to be run like 2 companies.
